Jebao WP25 Information

Jebao did not sell direct to Fish-Street.
When I was having problems with my night sensor and contacted Jebao about it.
Their reply was....

Dear Steve,

My name is Wystan from Jebao-the manufacture;
We are sorry for the problem ,
maybe there are some problem for the sensor ,
this is our first time we heard this kind of this problem,
and I've asked our engineer to test it according your description ;
We want to check if replcae a sensor can slove your problem but I still
have not got the answer from my engineer at the moment ;

And we didn't sell the pump directly to Fish-Street.com ,
maybe they buy from our China customer , so can you contact Fish-Street.com
to ask then to send a sensor first as it's not expensive,thanks!

Sincerely
Wystan

I have a direct order from Jebao in the works, they are awaiting payment to confirm. Unfortunately, there is a point where shipping can only be discounted so much... they claim due to the magnets and having to use DHL. My wife is not happy with the number of pumps that we would have to take delivery of for the space we have available (and while I will more than likely be out of town) to make this feasible at the moment, so I'm not sure if I'm going to go through with it.

Wholesale price is tiered. While you may think something should be cheaper getting it from the manufacturer than getting it third hand, these "middlemen" are dealing in such high unit numbers that they can get it at a MUCH deeper discount, sell it two or three times (each making a profit), and it still costs us what an entry-level tier buy directly from Jebao would cost us.

What's hard to believe is that the WP25 is really not much less in price than a WP40. If people are willing to pay $100 for a wp40, then retailers/opportunists are only going to import those, because people won't want to pay $95 for a WP25. They want to pay $65-$75 max, and the minimal profit isn't worth the time and hassle when they can get the WP40 for virtually the same price, and mark it up $25 more.

I have a few days to think about it, but the more I do, the more I'd rather just buy the 2 I want from Fish-street :facepalm:

SO what is the pricing tier? Someone had the WP40 with a quantity of 50 for $40 each plus $850 shipping to the U.S.

You'd have to buy 500 from Jebao before the price drops (to what I don't know, don't care). PM me for more info... I don't want to say anything that could be misinterpreted and get the thread closed.

Just a review

Just a review

Hi, have yet to post, but saw this post..

I recently got my wp40 couple days ago. It's obviously an overseas product, but is quite nice. Not too heavy and not too light at all, and moves quite a bit of water. It has an interesting ball+cradle design that I'm pretty happy with, but mostly just have it shooting straight and up a little..

Options are good, controller box is light but sturdy, but the knob is kinda useless for the non-wave options (low/high speed constant on)

2 things bothered me:
light sensor works if I cover it with my hand, but the unit turns back on if I put it down and kill the lights in the room (wth!)
But of course like one said, this is functionality, purely slight inconvenience.

The other thing I found (most of you who own it will want to try this if you see it)

When in wave mode and you have timing on the short side, the propeller would "miss" a turn every now and then. I'm not sure if the cover piece with the oring in the top of the unit moves, so I cut a 1mm(? real thin) piece of airline tubing (clear) and slid it onto the front of the axle where it slides into the cover. The KEY is, don't push it down, SLOWLY put the unit back together, and let the unit top cover slide the airline tubing washer down towards the propeller. Now it only "misses" about once every 30-40(?) spins..

Curious to see the wp25 come out though, I think two of these wp40's in a 75 would be quite overkill :)

Btw, did find this the other day on another forum, it will allow a dimmer switch to be used for the constant on high/low settings from what I hear, hoping it works for the wave modes (don't see why not since it's the power TO the controller)

I asked them that the other day and they haven't responded.
I also asked if they ever considered sell the pump alone without the controller for those that are using it with a Reef Angel or Apex.

Like I said no answer on either yet.

I just heard back from Wynstan at Jebao...

Yes , we can sell the WP-25 and WP-40 without controller;
Still need about two weeks for the WP-25,thanks!
Trying to find out how to get the Stand alone pumps, because I don't think Fish-Street sells them stand alone.
Just sent an e-mail off to Fish-Street to see if they can sell it stand alone.

Looks like another couple of weeks for the WP25.

If Jebao doesn't sell directly to Fish-street (per other experiences and emails by users here), why do they have to ask FS if they will sell the pump w/o controller? Is it because they will sell it stand alone, just not directly to you? Makes me question if my "direct" order is not going through FS. If so, then they need to stop giving the warranty run-around to people who have had issues. It seems like all of us are getting different stories depending on who we talk to in regards to the buying process.

If you haven't dealt with buying Chinese made goods from somebody in China, I can understand your confusion. They work VERY differently than US manufacturers and sellers. There is very little that is proprietary in Chinese products because so many different factories are involved in making this part or that part. The last factory basically just does assembly. The Distribution chain is just as confusing. Good luck figuring it out!

Jebao is not asking FS if they are going to sell it stand alone.

I did.

Jebao's response was they will sell it stand alone, but they did not say to whom.
I sent an e-mail back to them asking if they know who will sell it stand alone.
Hope to hear back tomorrow.

But are you buying from the wholesaler or retailer? If it is the retailer, they may "eat" a percentage of the shipping cost while the manufacturer will not. Some manufacturers from China actually mark up the shipping charges.

From Fish Street. I talked to Jebao about a bulk order on the WP40 and it was around $10/ea for shipping. Essentially worked out to $50/ea with a 50 unit minimum.

This has been discussed extensively in the WP40 thread.

What happened to the $30 price quote in the very first post lol. I think all the buzz about this pump is increasing the price before it even hit the shelves. Only time will tell what the price and the quality will be.

Well, the sentence before the one you quoted I said WP40. That's what I was referring to. Nobody knows for sure the price points on the WP25, just the $30 mentioned in the OP.

Jebao doesn't sell directly to Fish-street. After talking to the owner of Fish-street.He dos order them directly from Jebao.but he order them under his name not under the website name due to China laws what he telling me.

Unlikely we are 'pushing the price up' on the Wp25 before it's even released. After all, the WP40 at Fish Street has come down $10 (about 12% for those who care) since it was introduced.
