Jebao WP25 Information

Are two of them enough for most size reef tanks?

They say they are rated for 25 to 75 gallon tanks.

I'm going to be putting 2 in my 55. The WP40 is just too much for the 55.
I think I'm going to set them up in and anti-sync mode thru the Reef Angel controller, but I;m going to test 1 of then stock for a nit when it comes in.

Do you have high temperature issues when you run wp40?
In the valley of the sun, I really hope this pump doesn't not put out a lot of heat.

No. I have seen no significant temperature increase since adding the WP40.
Down here in S. FL we have heat issues too.

This pump has shown no signs of heat increase.
As a matter of fact Ron Reefman did a test in the main WP40 thread where he placed the pump in a 5 gallon bucket, ran it for 24hr at 24bv and then again at 18v and there was a 1 degree difference. This demonstrates that slowing the pump down with a voltage regulator does not make the pump work harder.

Here is the link to that post.

I had mentioned earlier in the thread my concern that the wp40 at 12volts could be heating up my tank. I was having a 2 degree temperature swing from day to night. I switched to jäger heaters and made sure they were precisely calibrated and now my tank is at a constant 78.5 degrees even when the room temperature creeps up to 75 degrees. I don't believe there is a significant amount of heat released from this pump, even at reduced voltages. I have 110gal. water volume.

^^ although jäger makes a great heater, and shot!, I wouldn't trust any heater without a controller. I too haven't noticed any temp changes with my wp40. Have it running at 24V on else mode on my 180. Hopefully I can be tester for the wp25.

WP25 is now on FS website. Price is $70 plus $23 shipping. 8000LPH or 2100GPH. It seems to be the same controller so no speed control?

Here is the pic from FS. According to FS site, all Jebao production lines are making pumps for FS for the next 2 months.

They really don't say anything about the pump and the spec's that differ it from the WP40.

They don't say if it has variable speed control built into it as a matter of fact they are still offering their Variable power supply to reduce the speed of the pump.

Even the picture does not show a new controller. It still just has the one control knob.
The only thing is that the box does say WP-25 on it.

Are these in stock or are they still a pre-order?
The price difference is not that much. $99.80 for the WP40 and $93.25 for the WP25 This includes shipping.

The pump is only $6.55 cheaper.

It looks like that group buy at $53 each shipped to me was a good deal.
Yeah I might not be the first one to have it, but big deal.

A friend of mine just got a hold of a WP25 in HK and shipped that to me last night. I am hoping to get it in the next 2-3 days and then do a review verifying some of the info. I will try to find out more spec and info while waiting for the pump.

Well, if that's true, then you'd think they could offer a better price than $80. We already know that a decent sized group buy can get them for <$50 each. So they're either lying, or they are price gouging.

Edit: Just saw the price is $70. Nevermind. :p

Let say they are paying the same $48 per pump shipped as the AZ GB did Selling them at $70 each + shipping they are making $22 just on the pump.

I know they are a business and do have overhead and employees to pay, but I think that is a bit high.

Besides I'm sure they got a better price then the $48 per pump the GB did.
They are probably ordering in the thousands at a time and shipping has got to be minimal considering both are in China.

I have nothing against group buy because they do save people money. But the trade off is time and coordination. Most people using a group buy typically wait for almost a month to get their pumps and you have to make sure to get your name on the list and pay first. If you cannot pick it up from the GB organizer, you pay additional shipping. If something is wrong with the pump when you get it, you are out of luck as no retailer can fix it for you. All of these hazzles to save $20-$30 may not be worth it for a lot of people. A group buy makes sense on expensive items like LED lights if you can save one or two hundred dollars. JMT.
