JellyTheory’s 450 gallon Peninsula Style Starfire display tank Extravaganza - w/Pics!

Love the square plumbing Chris! :lmao:

I think you will want to feed the skimmer water from the main tank, not after its gone thru the refugiium if I read your plumbing correctly.

Kevinpo - Thanks! I appreciate it! :)

Ken - Thanks for the input and great catch! I can easily run it off of one of the drains lines from the main display. I'm planning on giving you a free frag of something nice once I have the system up and running and something to frag. :) I kind of like the square pipes too. lol. I just couldn't figure out how to create elbows for round pipes in the program, so square it was!

Drummereef - Thank you as well! :)

Please keep the good advice coming.

-Chris

that alot of squares pipes, good luck finding fittings for them..lol also will you be using hard or spa flex....keep all the pics and updates coming, looking good btw.

Tell me the truth, when you put hat mock up of the new tank did your wife think you were crazy? I do crazy things like that too and i get weird looks at home :)

BTW every time i see your name I get this craving for toast.

my wife thinks this is addtion to the house but i told here its not and yes she watch me work on my tank all the time and tell me your crazy, i just simply say who isn't

so true..

I just had to laugh at the pvc pipe mock up..That is so me..

This willl be an interesting one..

cbui2 - I plan to use tiger flex, kana flex, spa flex and regular plumbing. I've been following your thread and think it's coming along fantasticly! It's going to be great once it's set up and running. :)

Zoos and erics3000 - It's all part of the fun of setting up a new tank! Although, I'm pretty sure she does think I'm a little crazy at times. It's the rest of the family and friends that think I might be nuts. :)

mmmmm...strawberry jelly and toast. lol. :)

Here's an update for all the square pipe lovers in the thread! :) The main display tank now feeds the skimmer.

Anything else stick out in any one's mind? I plan to order the tank pretty soon and would appreciate anyone elses feedback. Should I do just four 2" holes in the overflow? Should I run a few extra in there if I have the room?

Thanks in advance!

-Chris

Hi Bebo77 (Gabriel) - lol. Yes, that's Fox in the Hound. I was going to say great guess but you might be more familiar with it than me with all of the kids you have! :P

Hi Toolguy - Good catch. Sorry for the mistake, I meant to say holes for 2" bulkheads. The holes would be 3 1/4" each.

Should I be adding any other holes or changing the holes I'm planning on using?

-Chris

Tagging along to see what happens.. I am doing a 180 buildin this fall.. =)

What program are you drawing your tank in?

Looking good cant wait to see the build pics. I was curious what program you were using also.
Cheers

Hi Grunt and Fareforce - I'm using a FREE program named "Google Sketchup". It's a REALLY neat program and did I mention, it's FREE! :) Here is the link if you want to download it.

If you have any other questions, let me know. :)
