Jimmys Insanity *600 gallon cube*

I am going to place something under each leg to dispurse the weight. Right now its just sitting on the tile so we can slide it around a little while working on it. Not to sure what were gong to use tho. Any suggestions? The tile does sit on concrete tho, that should help out some.

One question. Is it alright to use the black ABS pipe with the PVC. I heard it can leach unknown chemicals over time.

If the tile sits directly on concrete without anything between, personally I wouldn't put too much worry into setting the tank up. But the largest tank I have had was only around 500 lbs. Maybe someone with more experience will chime in.

Yeah that's a good idea. It being on concrete helps but the tile could still crack where the grout laid underneath...it's almost never uniform. I imagine a small piece of plywood underneath each leg would help disperse the weight across the tile a bit better but you may not even have a problem. I'd just hate to see a crack in that floor.

I dont like what I see in this picture, at the upper right seam of the tank. I hope its just the light playing tricks, but it sure looks like the seam is coming apart. Any seam that is not water clear is suspect or already failed.
Again, I hope I am wrong, and otherwise nice build!

Well we managed to get some plumbing done, after a few more trips to Lowes. The main manifold for the return pump was built and installed. I also put the kid to work.

We addressed the seem and even braced it inside with additional acylic after contacting ATM here in Vegas. They ensured us that it will be fine. We also painted the corners now to cover up the brace/repair for a cleaner look. I thought the same thing when I looked at it. Nobody wants 600 gallons of water on the floor.

Thats great  Good idea painting it too.

Wow nice open real estate under that tank!

I hope he got it all set up. The part that worried me (other than cracking floor tiles) was the presence of the hammerhead pump right in the living room. Those are best suited to living in an external fish room since they make a mean hummmmmm.

I had one in my basement rish room and could hear it in my bedroom across the whole house at night!

I hope that these guys are still on track, would be a sick tank!
