Davey, I'll let you know for sure!

Mike, Thanks! Lots more cool stuff to add too :D

Terry, they are fed from the return, and empty back into the sump w/out going through a sock. The only time I have ever had any trouble with debris leaving the reactor is within the first few minutes doing a change. There should only be a small amount of flow going through them, or the phosban will start to break up..

HTH

Jim

That's a great idea. I wish I would have thought of that early on. I run 2 reactors, too, and have 2 extra minijets in my sump.

I do it the same as Jim. I feed my phosban reactor, carbon reactor, will feed the calcium reactor, and also feed my DSB in a bucket off my return pump. The less pumps, the better. :)

Thanks Terry. Obviously the goal was to eliminate as many pumps as I can and keep as much equipment out of the sump as possible. I know, I know, most try to keep it all in the sump, I just don't like doing it that way. It gets messy and cramped in the sump. When I need to mess with my equipment, its nice and dry :)

Mike, I'm trying to come up with a way to run a removable sandbed in my sump. I know a bucket is the best way, but I want to keep it stylish ;) I may just fill the sump up for 6" of sand and suck it out with a shopvac once a year then replace it. I'm concerned about spikes and such when I do so, but how could it be any different than doing it with a bucket? See any problems?

That's a great idea. What do you do for ATO? I don't run an ATO. To keep the water level in my sump constant, I just throw in an extra pump everyday so I can keep displacing water :p

What does Mike know about sand?? He's a BB4L!! :D

It shouldn't be any different then removing a bucket "if" you remove all the water in the sump along with the sand. Make sure nothing gets back into the tank that could cause problems.

tbone~
I know that Sandbeds operate like wormholes and the excess nutrients and detritus are transported to a sister galaxy. That's all I need to know. :p

And they call you Mr. Tunze? Where's your osmolator?

BB tanks are for reefers who afraid of reefing

Whats up Jim- You guys missed out on some great deals at the auction with Tyree and Eddie today :D

Just playing about the BB comment. I'd do it too, but I like wrasses to much :)

Mark - how much $$$ did you spend today?

I do not want to tbone Jims thread as it is so straight and narrow  You'll have to wait for the update just like the others. I just got done acclimating and things look decent considering.

anyways, Jim, you get some more LR today or what?

Terry, right now there is no ATO. I will be going with a Tunze though :)

Mark, no. I didn't. I pulled about 75-100#'s from my stock tank and put it in the display. I have a ton of undesirable rock left, so I'm gonna try and swap some out tomorrow.

I've just had the worst headache all day. It must be allergies or something.

I'll head up to YR tomorrow when I head out to Jeremy's. Do you know if Brandon works on Sundays?

I just fired up the grill and I'm gonna BBQ a steak. Relax a bit :D

Terry- My thread is done. It was "Mark's 180 Starfire upgrade" and I am upgraded ;)

Jim- Brandon works on most Sundays.
