Well, that test did exist at one time. But the brilliant minds at elos tried to reinvent the wheel and really blew it IMHO.

They also changed the alk kits last month too. This helped increase accuracy, but the result was a test kit that required twice the drops to come to the same result. Well, elos didn't increase the size of the reagent bottle, so basically they doubled the cost of alk testing for people who use this product.

The solution that was given was to use 1/2 the water in the vial. So far I have been using this method and it seems to work very well.

I will say that even with these issues, I won't go back to salifert.

These days you really don't have a choice since salifert test kits are becoming harder and harder to find. That suck that they changed the mag test kit.

Yup, I wasn't aware of the Mg issue before I bought my kit. Dissapointed with the 100ppm specificity... Such is life, I suppose.

Glad to hear there is still hope for the bulbs and ballasts Jim. :) Any change in them since?

Sup Mark.

Yeah, all the lamps seem to be leveling out. I think in the end, they may be a little whiter than they were on the M58, but I don't know for sure yet.

Okay, after much procrastination I finally got around to replmbing my reactor manifold :)

As you can kinda see, the reactors are on the left leaving me more room to get the skimmer cup out.

The lights did wind up evening out, but are definitely a little whiter than on my old ballasts. I'm have with the results though. Some VHO actinics are just around the corner :D

I also have some goodies on the way to add onto my RO/DI. I ordered up a spectrapure max cap DI add on and some new carbon blocks and sediment filter from filter guys :)

Okay, I'm off to a family BBQ. Its been a really long day!! Played some table tennis at Tim's in the morning, cruised home to mount my frags and replumb, now I'm off to grub but I'm glad I accomplished so much!

Cheers,

Jim

Jim

That was a nice score on the coral.

Is it a Oregon tort?

I would like to come by some time and check it out.

Did you get the new skimmer in yet?

Chris

Hey Chris. Yes, thats Tim's sister colony O-tort :D He posted a FS thread in mars a few weeks back. I jumped ALL OVER it.

The skimmer is supposed to leave Austria today. The shipment should arrive in the US by Wed or Thurs. I will be meeting up with Victor this weekend to pick it up from him (hopefully) :)

You're more than welcome to stop by this weekend if you'd like! Just let me know!

Good stuff Jim. I am glad to hear that the new skimmer is on its way.

Thanks Mark!!!

I'll be stoked as soon as its in my hands! Been waiting a long time for this baby.....

Thanks! I'm really happy with the new additions. I also got a frag of the shawn bennet yellow tort and Tim's pink/red clathrata table :D

Yeah, picked up another ATB skimmer, but managed to sell the old one to offset the cost.

No, sorry I don't. I've never owned a dolphin pump, so I have no experience. Give ER a call, I'm sure someone there can answer your question!

I just got my new skimmer :D I'm SOOOOOOO stoked right now :D This time I had them make it all white. I love the look
