Update

I picked up some ballasts from Jeremy a couple weeks back. Just got around to installing them this afternoon. Thanks for the killer deal Jt!!!! PM inbound shortly :D

No sweat buddy! Glad to find them a good home. I swear, trying to keep up with your tidy wiring job is gonna be tough. I haven't even gotten around to any of that yet, at least not the under the tank wires. My canopy wiring isn't half bad at least.:D

My bad, just read the last page so you should get it pretty soon, right? That will be awesome :smokin:

Yeah, I'm gonna be super stoked!

Victor is in Cabo for the next week, but he said when he gets back, the next shipment should be arriving. Its scheduled for the week of the 11th.

Jt, the wiring is just as easy as the plumbing :) Just plan it out ahead if time :)

I still don't know how I'm gonna get my VHO's to look this clean....

Thanks bro, I just put the Nikon away :)

Jeremy is coming by tomorrow to check on his chalice frags. Oh yeah, he wants to see the joc too :)

:D That and I haven't seen Emma in awhile.

So, after some deliberation with Jeremy this afternoon, I've decided to replumb my return section to make some more room. Thanks for stopping by man, and thanks for the advice!! I will take it all into consideration :D

Meanwhile, my bulbs are now not looking right. 2 of them look like 10k's and one looks like a 20k. I tried to remount the socket so that the bulb "nipples" all lined up properly, but that was no help.

Does anyone have any suggestions??

Good to see you today Jim. So what happened when you threw the single ballast on one of those lights? Still the same 10kish look?

The single ballast runs the far left reflector when you're looking at the tank.

I pulled it off and hooked it up to the far right (20k looking lamp) and the color stayed blue.

I'm thinking it has something to do with the bulbs, but I don't know whats up.

OK, next test, swap one of the 10kish looking bulbs out with the blue looking one and see what happens on each side.

Okay, just swapped'em. The color is definitely following the bulb. So the bulbs are acting funny. I'm not sure if they'll just break in, or what

Well, good to know it's the bulbs and not the ballasts nor electrical lines. Were you using the same bulbs before or are these new? Doesn't really matter I guess, as I'm now out of ideas.

Yeah, me too.

Yup, they are the same bulbs as I was using before.

Oh well. I'll just see how they turn out. Maybe they'll all even out in color over time :) Either way, I'm getting new bulbs in about 3-4 months so I'll figure it out :D

It seems as though 2 of the 3 ballasts may have been pushing the bulbs harder, shortening their life expectancy, while the 3rd did not. Now that the electronic ballasts are there, they're not getting that extra wattage to maintain the color. You may be getting bulbs as soon as the paycheck allows.:(

Yeah, that could be the case.

I don't know what bulbs to try next!!

Umm, I could make a suggestion.:D

Well, seeing as how Mark, myself, and even Davey are all using Radium 20k's, that might give you an idea. Tim is bucking the trend, but he's always been a little odd.

Yeah, I am stuck between the reeflux and the radiums. The problem is that you, Mark and Davey all run them on M80's!! Mine won't look like that :(
