corals and fish at this store to be in very sad shape
everything was healthy and thriving
knowledge of the employees to be none
andy and jeffrey were totally honest about that. they are fresh water guys, but when jefferery didn't know, he picked up his cell phone and called the salt water guy for the answers. knowledge isn't everything - but honesty is
equipment made in China which is why the prices are cheap.
i looked. pretty much the same stock as any other fish store. i've been looking for one of those long kent feeders - $26.99 at Exotic, $23.99 at JoJos, $21.99 at Fish Planet. picked up some kent part a, part b - $8.69 at JoJos, $7.99 at Exotic. those are just a couple things i've looked at recently.
fish had ich when I was there and looked like they were on their death bed
everything was healthy. i can't recall being in any fish store to date where i haven't seen a dying or dead fish.
they fall way short of the nice shops in the area.
that's subjective. not as big as others, but carried nice pieces and the customer service was good and this is the cleanest store i've been in in a while. first impressions - wow!
I just want to give people a head's up if they are trying to decide where to shop when coming from out of town because
not trying to steer out of towners in. just letting fellow local reefers know this place is there and worth a look see.
about 3 miles from exotic on the other side of 99. lots of folks go to exotic - is it really that far out of the way?
that said, everyone will have their own opinions and i wouldn't attempt to persuade yours. but i wouldn't have posted this thread if this were a dive.
