What are you waiting for the set this tank up anyways? :D

My list:
1) Im waiting for my refund from melev so I can buy another RODI unit somewhere.

2) I have no sump or plumbing yet.

3) when knocking out that overflow yesterday, it took a little of the sidewalls acrylic with it. So Im gonna put a mixture of superglue gel and acrylic shaving to fill the little gouge. Then just to be safe, I am going to superglue a small patch of clear acrylic over it.

Besides that, nothing is holding me back lol.

YEah, I dont have water in it yet. which weldon do I use? I mean I probably dont need anything at all, its not too large of a gouge. I just really dont want to wake up to a 60x36x20 50 gallon tank one morning lol.

I woke up this morning to look at the tank. Its crazy how much larger it looks with that overflow gone. Now I just gotta hope this single overflow will be enough lol.

Nice. Id imagine I could use it to put some baffles in an acrylic sump also.

my Magicians are off to a nice start! Howard > Bosh.

For weldon, I think #4 is the way to go. You could get some of that foam and make a DIY rock covering to attach to the acrylic sheet, so it wouldn't look unsightly. (I'm not sure what it is exactly, but there are a ton of threads on it over in the DIY forum)

Hmmm, I never thought about hiding it with rock. I do have a couple flat pieces of rock. Maybe I will make some sort of acrylic shelf, and epoxy/silicone a rock shelf onto it.

Another idea I thought of today.... I am going to make a type of light rack out of PVC pipe. I dont know what size yet, since I dont know how large the reflectors of the T5s are going to be. I'll just use the weldon to assemble the fixture, maybe teamed up with some bolts and nuts, to be sure. After that, I am going to cut enough of the PVC pipe, maybe leaving 60% of it, at the angle where the reflectors will point the T5s into the tank. I'll have 2x48" T5s length wise, then 4x24" T5s running depth wise, one on each side of the Lumenarcs. I think this will work very well. if it doesnt, oh well, PVC is pretty cheap. It sounds like a sound idea in my head, I guess we'll see how it works.

Alright, so I got the PFO dual 250w ballast and the octo 250 pro skimmer in today. The hamiltons with the PFO and lumenarc looks great. Not too blue, but not yellow at all.

As far as the skimmer. I was expecting a little break in period... not the case. literally, as soon as I plugged it in, this beast started pulling skimmate. the collection cup is 1" full, and its only been on for about 30 minutes. I guess that shows how great this thing works, how crappy the coralife skimmers are, and how dirty my tank in return was lol.

The only thing I can say is when I was attaching the air hose, the acrylic nipple on the volute came off, just unglued. I had to reglue that. And the nipple on the round air muffler thing on the top broke off very easily when I put the air hose on. Two things broke within the first 2 minutes, and I had to reglue them. THAT sucked. The skimmer function doesnt though.

Theres no pic for a FTS, the 190 isnt even up and running. Im still waiting for my return pump for my sump. ITs currently sitting inside my sumpless 60g tank lol. I'll get some pics of skimmate and equipment tomorrow.
