John Tangeman's (drtango) Reef Aquarium

a revival of John's TOTM article and a review of it's husbandry. Many newbies here may not have ever heard of John. He is now retired from reefkeeping and I miss him here. We had a lot of great discussions over the years. Along with what I'd previously learned, John's success with the Emperor Angelfish "sold me" on trying one.

John Tangeman's (drtango) Reef Aquarium

For those that saw John's aquarium in person, it was beautiful.
I don't know what happened but my Emperor Angelfish grew much larger than the one in John's aquarium.

Does anyone know what happened to that fish?

One thing I enjoy is a tank full of amazing corals lacking the designer names that it seems now is a prerequisite for recognitions.

beautiful tank and nice write up!

I would stay away from meow mix. If the fish start begging for it like my cat does, they are all going to end up with dented heads from all the bumping into the glass trying to get your attention for another handful.

beautiful tank and nice write up!

I wonder how many people noticed the aquarium in that article is bare bottom? :)

John cleaned it with a wet vac!

We both discovered the drawbacks of a DSB in the display tank within months of one another.

Tom (tmz)- did you ever see this aquarium in person?
