JOSE CASAS...366gal..RIMLESS TANK!!

Well the fun is about to start but the tank is taking forever to fill up lol! After the tank fills up i want to put sand. At one point I was going to go BB but cant seem to pull the trigger. So know I am asking you all if you can recomend the whites sand and size. I want fine but remember it is going to cater mostly SPS so that might be a key factor thanks for all the help guys/gals!!!!!:)

I have all the live rock I need so once I put the sand the rock will go in for some aquascape and let nature take its course.

The last two days have been hot here in SoCali 97 deg and y0ou gauys think a 1/2 will be enough for 500 gals sys? Let me know and what you recomend for a chiller? For me a chiller is a must have. I only had to use the chiller in the summer months and the rest of the year I do not have to run chiller so I look at it like why gamble with all the corals I plan to keep.
:D

Thank you Jonathan!!!!

Well she is almost full. I say by Wed inculding the sump which is 48''x36''20''.

Come on guys need some input on the sand!!!!!!!:D

Good choice with the sand Jose. I'd use a courser grain sand like a #2 and #3 topped with some aragonite media sized to help weigh it down.

As for a chiller, I'd never buy anything but a Tradewinds, but I know a lot of people feel the same way about aqua logic chillers as well.

I also prefer the look of sand, and because I hate dealing with sand being blown around, use Carib Sea Special Grade.

As for the chiller, if I were to buy another, I'd likely pick up a Tradewinds as well, with Aqua Logic being a close contender, and for your system, a 1/2 horse is the minimum I'd consider.

Thanks Mark! That really helps and know just have to find out which one is the white's because I have seen some that are more tan.

As far as the chiller thanks Mark, do you think that a 1/2 hp is good enough?

Jose, steve is selling a Deltec chiller... Check his out. Not sure abot the size of it, just remembered he was selling one.

Thanks for the frag and the look at your tank. It is enormous in person. Great Tank!
NP Mark and again sorry for the delay. Its almost full and the fun is about to start!!!!!!:D

Jose, If you can swing it, I'd get a 3/4hp chiller especially since its out in your garage. There is no reason to fight it or buy twice.

I don't think it was a chiller, it was the Eco-Cooler. They do better outside than inside as it's just an evaperative cooling tower. Inside it just dumps a ton of moisture/humidity into the air.

Mark the garage stay's pretty cool (cooler than the house in the summer) and I have a 3/4 horse aqualogic that I might just end up using thanks.

I meant more because you have more room. I think sometimes garage tanks stay cooler for the most part.

I think Iam going to use the 3/4 since I have it, now I just need for my eletrician to come over and rewire for the 220w.
