July meet!!!

Question for ya: I just purchased this colt yesterday at Caesar's, excellent customer service btw, and I'm wondering about the polyp that appears to be dangling?

It's on the left center...

I dipped it in medicoral and melafix just to be proactive. The blemish is smaller now. If it gets bigger I will just redip. Thanks for your input.

It's possible it got stung by another coral, I have such blemishes on various pieces due to me not securing everything in my tank with glue. Urchins, snails, hermits, and even some fish can knock things over sometimes and I'll find them later that day, one having clearly won and stung the crap out of the other.

Makes me wonder if anyone has ever done a "coral dominance" study about who the king of stinging is.

Thanks for the info. I don't know if this could have happened at the LFS... The colt came with the marks. So far it is swaying in the current and seems happy. It is still only partially attached to the rock it came on though. Should I place another rock at the base so it can attach to that?
