Looking forward to next month I would like to hold a meet, if there is enough interest. I live in Goode about 45 minutes from roanoke and i know there are not to many active members out this way. My tanks are not as impressive as some of the larger ones, mostly LPS, softies, and clams with a few sps mixed in.

I am sure there would be fun for everyone and families would be welcome. I have an inground pool for any who like to cool off, a pool table for any interested in shooting some pool, and will be putting in some horse shoe pits in the next couple of weekends.
Also my 3 year old has tons of toys, ride ons and things to play with.

My plan was either July 14th or 28th I allready have another get together scheduled for the 7th.

Would also be curious if anyone would be interested in a group buy, it seems we have tried this before but it never pans out.

Before I make any plans I would like to see who would be willing to make the drive and which date woul be best.
 
I am not sure on the 14th but the 28th is out for me. If the 14 works for me then I am in for sure. I would love to see your tanks.

I've not done a meet before, as I'm just getting into reefing.. but I would certainly be interested. I'm out of town the 28th, but if the 14th works out I'd make the drive.. even from Rocky Mt. :-)
 
I'm off on both weekends, the 14th and the 28th, so I'm game. I can haul several people from blacksburg area. Let me know when it is gonna happen...
 
As far as i know, I'm free on any weekend but you never know when things change. That being said, if I can I will be there.
 
Interest is brewing, and I know its not possible to fit everyones schedule but all that have replied allready have set the date for me.

July 14th it is. I will make it start at Noon and go till whenever, its not like I have to drive home from this one. Maybe we can even get a poker game going later in the evening

If we get a good head count it coulb be a lot of fun and by the way new people are more than welcome and encouraged to come. Hopefully we will get some of the lynchburg reefers to show.

I still consider myself a novice with only 3 years in the hobby, and the more I get around everyone in the club the more I learn, and new ideas keep coming in for my future large tank.

I still have the Blender we used to make that food .... I can't use it for anything else lol ... So maybe we could bring something and make some of that stinky stinky food ... Ive got plenty of the frozen and flake stuff ... let me know ...
 
If we do a bulk buy what are most of us looking for. Clams, snails crabs or corals. Or some of each.
 
I could use a clam, a cool LPS, some killer zoos, a killer yuma, or something special. If anyone has suggestions for where to buy from and we get some interest I am game. I know a lot of sites that have wysiwyg and have some really nice stuff but most are pretty expensive and i have only tried a couple so dont know how honest they are.

Any suggestions or other ideas feel free to post if we do this we will have to put together an order by early next week.

eric i never tried making food but sounds good to me if you got the know how, and we get interest i say go for it
 
I would probably order a fish or 2 , some zoos sound good as well ...I guess it all depends where we get from ...

We could do a frag raffle as well .. still have the roll of raffle tix @ Steves house I believe..
 
As far as the food goes ...Tanks absolutely love it ... What we can do is anyone who wants to take part can post what they will bring ...

I have a bunch of Mysis and other assorted frozen foods... As well as some flake foods (formula 1+2 And Cyclopeze flake)
 
eric I have a selection of things i could add to the mix as well, frozen, dry, how about some spinach my fish love it
 
sure I will see if I can find some stuff from either wal mart or the Asian food market , like the squid/shrimp/octopus etc. pack
