July Meeting

Reefing On My Mind
Team RC
Well, its either Eddie's or Dana's from what I understand... I think Eddie's though... Lets start talking about food and a topic regardless...

So..... Who's planning on coming, what do you want to eat, and what do you want to talk about??? :D

I need a date before I commit, but I should be there for a short time. Lets talk lighting or about Mel's media question.

If its at Eddie's, he has to move it to the 4th Saturday, which would be July 25th... And you'd better be there Paul... ;)

I may not come just to upseet you. That is the end of my Exotics block and the beginning of my vacation- I will be there for a while.

Lets talk about controling stupid hair algae.

At a future meeting, talking about photographing tanks with an emphasis on getting the best out of non-SLR cameras could be a good idea.

Oh, and I could do a "Planted Tanks 101" talk if I ever host a meeting. lol

Yeah, forget dipping and quarantine for worms, nudis, etc. I have to quarantine ya'alls frags due to bryopsis. :furious:
It's like an STD... and nobody is protecting themselves or getting treatment. Heh - you all see The Hangover? Instant classic! "Remember what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas? Except for herpes. That s***'ll come back with you."

I second the photography talk, veto the planted talk, and that movie is an instant classic.

I wanted to see that movie yesterday, but Ashley got home late from work... I might just have to go see it on my own...

I'm fine with photography talk... Or lighting... Or phosphate media... Or planted aquarium talk... :)

I took a bunch of pics of Ashley's FW tank... Its actually starting to look good thanks to Joel... I still need to work on getting the pics uploaded to PB... They're all in RAW format so need to be converted... Maybe sometime this weekend I'll get to it... :D

I like the "photography for dummies" and planted tank ideas:D

......of course who knows if I will actually make the meeting/s:rolleyes:

I can tell you've never had nudies or AEFW's Joel;)

With me being the resident dummy on taking pictures of my tank I would like the "photography for dummies" subject.

I think that Mel’s comment of keeping it to the third Saturday is the way to go. Selfishly, however, I vote for Eddie’s tank. I feel that if we have it at Eddie’s house, he may feel a greater pressure to get more of the silly project completed, at least the project he has in his head, anyway. He is under a bit of pressure now from himself and those that are counting on him to provide a place to live that will sustain their lives. He has not yet felt the pressure that Randy will be giving if he backslides into his fit of procrastination.

With that said, if we can get a few more members to agree that the third Saturday rule can/should be suspended for the sake of those poor corals and fish, not to mention a few snails and crabs, that are holding on to dear life in Eddie’s tank, then I, as president for 3 or 4 more weeks will decide that, although, we appreciate Dana’s gracious offer, we should force/encourage Eddie’s to follow through with his offer and host the July ETRC meeting.

If you feel strongly, by a show of tread comments â€"œ which will display your feelings, that the third meeting rule should be strictly held in place for July 2009, then, I, as president for the next 3 weeks, will declare that Eddie is own his own as far as ETRC pressure coming to bare, and will be asking Dana when she wants to have the meeting and what her plans are for food.

:D :D :D :D :D

Paul thinks that the meeting should be at Eddie's because Paul would liek to see this "project." Dana has a great setup, but Paul would really like to see the 300 and or 375. Maybe Paul is selfish too- Paul thinks he is. Either way, paul noes not mind breaking the rules a little.

Randy thinks that this is a fun game to play... :D Randy also believes it is time to make more room in his tanks, especially with the frag swap additions... Therefor it is in Randy's best interest to have the meeting at Edward's so that he can support the aquatic life he has purchased... :p

It sounds like the ETRC is fine with having it the 4th Saturday in July, therefor that is what it will be... Eddie will speak about having to set up a 375g beast, and his future plans for the tank... Joel will be speaking on "A beginner's guide to Aquatic Photography"... The club will help Eddie expedite the setup of his tank in any way the ETRC can... :)

A friend of mine's friend told me that their friend had a friend that knows someone that thinks it would be great to have it at Eddie's, and if it's good enough for them it's good enough for me.

We have a suggestion for breaking/suspending the rules and having the meeting at Eddie’s on the 4th Saturday of July. â€"œ Paul
We have a second â€"œ Randy

We have five votes ---FOR:
Randy
Kim
Garry
Paul
Janie

We have one vote â€"œ Hey, wait a minute. What about the 3rd Saturday rule:
Mel

We have no votes -- Nay (unless Mel’s vote was a nay)
( )

I will inform Eddie that the meeting will be at his house. He will ask his wife what the food will be, and get back to you. He is learning toward Bar-B-Q pork loin, BUT

:D

If anyone wants to come over before the 25th and look at what is happening and make suggestions, give me a call or PM. I can use lots of help. However, don't expect to be impressed. Oh, yea, bring suggestions and solutions. I am serious about coming over just to look. My part of the house is always a mess. Kathy’s is almost never a mess, but my part is almost never not a mess.

Oh I'm cool either way. I think it's fine to have it the fouth Sunday. I just wanted to indicate that I think we shouldn't make a habit of switching it around. That's all.

Can we have a 6pm meeting this time? Is it possible to switch between lunch and dinner meetings? That way I can actually come to half the meetings! Russell always wants to go but he works every Saturday and never gets a chance.

So Melanie thinks that having the meeting at Eddie's is a good thing because everyone needs motivation to get their tanks up and running.

if i remember right, you were the last day switcher. :) i remember cause i was really excited to see jaws and had kept that day open and ya switched it on me.

i hate that i'm going to have to miss this one too...i really wanna see eddies set up. :( don't have too much fun without me.

evenings would be fine with me...middle of the day is kind of tough anyway, especially in the summer. tho, through the fall, i think the UT football schedule should play a little role in the time-of-day planning. :frog:
