July meeting

Hi y'all,

I need a host for our July meeting or a recommendation for a shop (or a restaurant even) to visit. Otherwise I have to cancel our meeting for the first time, which I hate to do.

I checked with Kwajrocks and she is too busy this month to host us. She is willing to host us in the fall, though.

I would host it except my tank is still recovering from the house repair ordeal in June. It's better in the fall for me, too.

I recommend as usual to go to the regional frag swap in Chattanooga in August in lieu of our August meeting. John Newby was willing to host us in August but he will not be willing to host us between September and December 1st on weekends (because of Alabama football games.)

Claudia has just about agreed to let me host one but not in July.We will be in Vegas July 21-28.No time to plan a meeting before and we will probally have lost everything including the house by the time we get back.Claudia likes the poker machines!LOL

I would like to but my tank is still new, well in the sense that there isn't much in there but maybe 7 corals, and 3 fish. And I don't have the cabinet doors done yet. I can think about it if no one else chimes in.

Maybe if I host it, I can ask people to help me fill it with corals by donation :)

Uhh we can host again on the 28th if needed. We just had about 50 folks over for the 4th, whats another 30 or so for a reefclub meeting lol.. But really if you guys are interested your welcome to have it here..

It's very nice of you to volunteer again, 8Ball!! It is always great to look at your set-ups.

If no one objects (I believe no one will), I would like to request (more like beg) 8Ball to host our July meeting. 28th is fine with me.

Any particular time in mind? If you can provide the space, we will take care of the rest. We promise not to drool so you don't have to clean up after us.

Since we are heading into the hurricane season soon, can you do a show and tell on your battery-inverter setup and a generator? I don't think that a lot of people have seen the neat battery-inverter project you did. You can tell us about what happened/can happen during a long power outage and what we can do to survive the power outage.

Tomoko

Np,, As far as time, doesn't matter I guess the normal 12-1pm?

Yeah last time I didn't even think to bring up my power backup setup till someone asked. Ofcourse everyone was gone by then but just a handfull of folks.. Its getting that time of year to worry about it!!

Hello, I may be interested in joining the club, if you have any room. How do you join? Any costs? I'm in Muscle Shoals and I don't know of any club over here. Just let me know. Thanks.

Welcome! Just come and join the fun! There is no dues or fees. NARC is a very informal club. We have no officers, either. We just get together and have fun once a month.

Tomoko

If we were to start at 12 or 1 pm, I suppose we should think about bringing food to the meeting.

Do you mind us using your grill to cook out something like burgers and chicken? We promise to clean the mess afterward. Otherwise, we can bring in some pot-luck dishes. What you all think?

Tomoko

Ofcourse we can fire up the grill!.. Also I plan on getting my Dad to Smoke us some Beef BBQ.. Its really good.. He does catering at Events and weddings stuff like that.

Will

Oh, yum!

I can bring a side dish or dessert for sure depending on what others want to bring - I am flexible.

Volunteers for soft drinks and plastic utensils?

Tomoko

I would like to come and join, but I need directions. I would also like to bring something, a side or chips or something.

The 28th is perfect for me. Can you believe it?, I'm going to actually make a meeting after about 6 months of missing them...

8Ball if you'll send me a PM with the directions to your house again, I'll get them posted on our website along with the meeting date.

Back in March when he hosted, he gave us this direction:

For those of you that haven't been here before our address is
20469 Turner Ln
Toney, AL 35773

Google maps displays his location pretty accurately.
