OK folks, summer is upon us... so to kick off the summer right we're holding our June Meeting at Captain's Cove! :bounce3:

We'll start early enough to grab a table or two for all on the dock, overlooking the marina. There will be an "ARKSC" sign on the table so any newcomers will recognize us.

For those of you unfamiliar with Captain's Cove, it's a multipurpose facility; marina, boardwalk, shopping, harbor cruises, seafood dining, bar and music (late afternoons and evenings). In early afternoon it's a great place to sit in the sun (or shade) on the very large dock overlooking the marina, talk, and watch all boats (including tall sailing ships sometimes). Though they do serve beer at the outside tables, it's still very much a family atmosphere. Always lots of kids around.

We did this year before last, and it was a blast! Sun, water, refreshments and great Reef Tank discussion. Who could ask for anything more? :)

On the Google Map - coming from the Post Road (Rt 130 - Fairfield Ave), I usually turn onto Ellsworth Street, and turn left off of that onto Thurston Street. At the end of that turn right onto Harbor Avenue, then take an almost immediate left onto Yacht Street. Captain's Cove is through the big gate at the end of the street.

Hope to see you there. Will be good fun!

See you all there!
Cool!

Also, forgot to mention... there's no cover, parking's free, no obligation to buy food or drink. The wharf where we will be is open to the public at no charge.

Nice, I might stop by this one. I've been for the last month, and for a couple of more months to come been working on a building almost right in captain's cove. Great place for sure.

Outstanding. ;)

Glad you agree. Definately a great spot to sit around talking about anything really. Friendly atmosphere, good place. There's not a summer that goes by where my wife and I don't spend an afternoon there. And the one meeting we had there worked great. Fingers crossed for good weather thought.

Would love to see you Jeff, if you can make it. As I recall, you were at out first - and last - Captain's Cove meeting. ;)

Would be great if you can swing a repeat.

The meeting is still on - rain or shine. Right now the chance of rain is being posted as 30%. Captain's Cove has a number of covered tables. I'll get there early to make sure we can snag one. Worst case, we can go inside.

New comers can look for an ARKSC sign on the table. And I'll be the really good looking guy wearing a black Hawaiian shirt with big green leaves on it. (I'm serious about the shirt anyway. ;) )

See ya' there!

Last minute request. If anyone can spare a piece of starter chaeto for my new sump refugium I would greatly appreciate it.
