Just a 200G

WOW, I love it! The 2 lumenbrights work really well with your aquascape. Now if your tank is 200g are you using less than the recommended amount of zeo rocks? What about the other zeo supps?

Thanks! I am so happy with the Lumenbrights. The edges of the tank are not actually as dark as they appear in the pics either.

I am using less than the recommended ZEO stones since my reactor is still just the 1.5L but my tank is now a net of about 240G. I have increased the flow rate a bit to 100gph which is the max per 1L of stones. I am using 1.5L of stones, so I have tried to get it right around 150gph.

As the rest of the additives, yes I am doing the regular amount based on what the guys at the ZEO forum suggest.

Its working very well so far. I am happy with the results. Especially since I can feed the fish as much as I want and still keep the corals happy--fat fish and colorful corals. Can't ask for more.

I really like these corner shots so...

This Green Millie is growing extremely fast. Started a 3 months ago as literally a tiny little nub on a piece of rubble. Maybe 1/2" at the time. Its not growing up all that much yet but its branching like crazy and has encrusted a very large area and is killing any Zoas that touch it. Kind of cool.

Just picked this green piece up infront of the stag from OA during the two for one sale. I think it worked out to being $30 :)

This is the area of the tank that I am most excited about to watch grow in. I love this Green Monti and it grows like a weed! You can't tell from the picture but its really starting to branch up nicely. Sorry about all the sand...my Gobies "den" is just under that rock. There tends to be a lot of sand in the water column around there.

Nice Frogspawn from Green Phantom.

This rock or island kind of has the diversity I want to see in the whole tank. Sponges, leather, Zoas, palys, mushrooms, LPS, SPS...

Ends of the tank...

This end will hopefully fill in with more softies as I find ones I like. Im really liking this end so far. And gives you an idea of how wide the tank is....almost 3'

This end is my Tusks territory. Unfortunately my Hippo won't let him leave this area much anymore. The Hippo may have to go if he keeps this up. The tusk is too important to me to see always stressed in a corner. I have noticed he has lost a lot of color lately and feel it must be due to the bullying of the Hippo :)

You can see so much of my LR is so white still :( Much of it was 'cooked' before it went into this tank and has yet to really get 'dirty'. I don't know if its the ZEO or not but coraline is not growing too fast right now.

My Yellow Tang is FINALLY starting to gain some weight. You can see here he is getting there. Still a little skinny for my liking though.

i love these very simple non crowded tanks. Huge coral growth and the tanks look unreal..

Great job!

Thanks!

Well I picked up a very large Sailfin from a friends tank yesterday (it had outgrown the 125) and I am happy to say, it was introduced with absolutely no problems from the other tangs. They didn't even look twice at him. I expected some fighting but they just accepted him no problem...I wonder if its because of his size ;)

I took some pictures at morning feeding time. So lights are still out, just the flash. Nice to see that he is already eating with them too!

Hi Justin, your tank is looking really great!

Hey Lisa!

You have made your way out of the FOWLR/Aggressive section :)

Thanks for the compliment.

justin awesome tank.

i was just wondering, how did you go about in building your stand? i love the color, the slide out doors...everything. do you have a link just in case i missed it?

The stand is just 2x4 and 2x6 framed like many of the stands here on RC. The usual overbuilt design. Then its skinned in very well sealed 1/2" MDF. The doors are also MDF that simply slide on kitchen drawer sliders. I think they are 30" slides. Then it's finished with a white latex paint. That's it. I have used MDF many times for tank stands and it is fine as long as you seal with well. My last stand was skinned in MDF for years with no problems.

Sorry no built pictures since my brother and I built the whole stand in about half a day. It was hectic.

Looking good! Love the detail you captured on your tang. Are you using the stock resun pump on that vertex zeo reactor? Sorry if you already answered this somewhere...

Thanks. Yes stock pump. Whatever that is that comes with the Vertex reactor.

what did you seal it with? does the mdf stick on with just sealant/glue alone or are there screws as well? how many coats of white latex paint did you run?

I don't remember exactly what it was that sealed it but it was just some kind of primer that Home Depot recommended. Nothing special though. It was screwed on and two coats of paint.
