Amazing Acros and setup!

All the amazing pics didnt allow for people to truly appreciate the "bean animal" post. I for one think I am going to have a DIY project this weekend. So simple and yet colorful and effective.

For your pictures, you said you use a 24-105L F4 I believe, do you use kenko tubes or anything, or is that just cropped in? By hand or a tri-pod?

I did see the bean animal overflow, had a good laugh... You are right tho, sps folks may mistaken them for coral eating invaders shimmying up the drainpipe, not to be taken lightly!

Green birdsnest. Very weedy. Fastest growing thing in my tank.

Unknown Blue-Green Acro. Possibly Turaki.

Pink Millipora. Fast Grower. Started out as this 1" nub on a frag plug last fall..

And is now this colony today.

Orange Digi. Another fast grower which I really should frag soon.. Started out as a 2" frag on a frag disc last fall..

And is now this colony.

Green Acropora turaki. 1" frag from last fall..

Mini-colony today.

ORA Ponape Birdsnest.

This was purchased as a pink Prostrata. It quickly turned into a Blue-Purple Prostrata.

I just went through this whole thread...... Again!!
The photos are just so crisp and ultra clear, and as Darryl said, very accurate color wise.
How must post production do you do on these shots, if any?
What about white balance adjustments.
Coral health is just awesome..

I just read post #168 about the blue clove polyps and man, do I feel much better. In my short experience with them they always seem to crop up on the best real estate in the tank - usually where I've glued my more expensive pieces. I waged some limited warfare against them, banishing some to the fuge and covering up the rest with epoxy. I keep seeing them popping up - I assume that if they can move across the tank then they can move from my refugium back into the DT.

I will definitely experiment now and let them grow out - they are very beautiful after all. I also didn't know they were so easily toothbrushable. Thanks for the tips!

Thanks! I shoot in RAW mode and process my photos with Adobe Lighteoom. The typical edits I do include exposure (up or down), and white balance to 10K to drop the blue down a few notches. Without the white balance everything definitely renders more blue than what you'd typically see in real life. And that's about it. I'm way too lazy to do much more editing and I have no clue how to use Photoshop lol.

Ya, you can clearly see in virtually all of my coral photos that all of my rock is covered in blue cloves. It's been like that for years. 1. I kinda like the look and 2. I have never observed the blue cloves actually stinging and overtaking any of my corals. I have a lot of corals so I'm pretty sure I would notice if they were. For those reasons I have just let them be. And again, if I need or want to clear a patch I just take a toothbrush to the area. I find them quite delicate that way.

I do wonder if there are different species of blue clones though, and perhaps there is a species that is more aggressive with their stings.
