Just bought new mp40s Flow Question

I have a 175g bow front tank. I just purchased 2 mp40s and have installed one on either side. My tank is mainly sps with some lps and soft.

Any suggestions on the program that would best fit for the coral and also not sure if to use them in sync mode or anti sync mode?

I have a mixed reef 90 gallon with a MP40 and MP10. I use the anti-sync mode b/c I like more random flow. I usually keep it in ReefCrest Mode, but switch it to Nutrient Transport Mode ("NTS") after feedings for a couple of hours.

thanks, I have them currently in the reef mode and anti sync. I changed 4 koralia#4s for these 2 mp 40s. I like the control and the fact you can have them sync or anti sync.

I am also thinking of adding a mp10 on the back as well.

Reef Crest! It's so varied. I switch them up randomly. I used more anti-sync than sync, but months ago I took them off of the master/slave modes.

I didn't want both pumps to stop (technically like 10% power) if I put one on feed mode. Personal preference. You really can't go wrong with these pumps.

i only have one on my 75
i keep it on nutrient export mode
(love it

but soon ill have another and plan on running it on long pulse )anti syn
from what i have seen of this mode it looks more like natural ocean flow to me

i have been watching the tank all night and it does not seem like these 2 mp40s have replaced my 4 koralias. I think I had more turbulance with the koralias. I just added a koralia 4 evolution back in. Seems to help.

Anyone have a mp40 on the back wall.

Running 2 x mp40wes on the back wall on individual control. One on Reef Crest and the other on Nutrient Transport Mode jsut give the tank abit more random flow here and there.

I have 4 MP40s on my 180. 2 on each end. I run them on long pulse mode, full blast. I try to vary the length of the pulses on each of the pumps so they are as random as possible. I don't use any of the sync modes at all. These pumps really stir things up.

I also have 7 Tunze Nano streams across the back wall. All are modded, so flow is way more than stock.

4 6025s
1 6045
2 6055s on a multi controller

Throw in two 3/4 inch sea swirls on the returns and my tank is a flow junkie's dream come true. I am also looking at another 2 6055s to hang on the multi controller.

All I can say is "Holy flow batman" . Thats alot of flow. I am thinking of adding another mp40 to the back wall.

Herb...That flow is CRAZY!

That is 19,534 GPH on un-modded stock PHs without the returns calculated in and 108 times the water volume of DT. You have a video illustrating this flow and would guess you only have SPS?

In my Bones voice..... "My God Man... It's a reef tank, not a Sunami site" that is some crazy flow...

Well I just infrared the flow. Now I have the 2 mp 40s with 2 koralia evolution 4s. I definitely think a 3rd mp40 would work nice if mounted on the back wall.
