Just dipped new corals in revive, rinsed and placed in tank. How long till they open?

holy sh*t!! that's INSANE. I will definitely groom it before it gets that big.

that pic isnt mine....I never let mine get quite that out of control. but I will tell you that keeping it "groomed" isnt good enough.

Do not put it on your main reef structure anywhere. An island on its own or a wall is fine........if you put it on your reef you will end up hating the stuff like everybody else who thought it looked cool when they started and werent advised where it needs put. ;)

That would be me :)

I paid $60 for all of them. I ordered 3 and the guy threw in 3 extra.

I put the gsp in the sand in front of the tank. I'm thinking it could grow like a mat right there and it'll be easier to pull up/cut it.

Hey, not trying to hijack but I think I made a big mistake with GSP. I wish I had seen this thread b4 I put some in. I actually put it on the sand to begin with cause I thought it looked like grass but my wife wanted me to put it on the rocks. So we all know where it is now!

Do u guys think I could control its growth with aggressive corals or kalk paste or something like that?

Thanks, and I only ask here cause it is on subject.

Biger, if it hasn't already started to grow on the main rockwork, I would remove it now while you still can. Other agressive corals won't really control it's growth, GSP is near indistructable, I haven't found a coral yet that it won't take over. Kalk may work but you will be fighting against it forever. I would take the safer option and be proactive and isolate that sucker.

good luck
dalston

Well it's been there a while now and it has started spreading but I am going to try and remove it.

Thanks

I can't find any pics of the GSP on this computer. I will check the home computer. I know my wife has some somewhere of my longnose hawk lounging in the middle of the GSP. It is really cool cause he likes to nest in it. I think he feels safe in there. I am going to try and move it off the rocks and hope he still likes it. He acts like a clown fish in an anemone.
The pics aren't that good cause our camera doesn't work on the tank so they are taken with an Iphone.

Hey one question, I saw on here where somebody said they took some black plastic garbage bag and held it down with rocks over xenia to kill it off. Do you think that would work with GSP for any I can't manage to get off. Would the dead GSP pollut the tank?

Thanks for any help.

Straving it of light and flow will for sure work, I actually had to paste mine with super glue gel to kill it off. FWIW I had no ill effects from dieing GSP in my tank.

Thanks for the help dalston. I have been working on this stuff for a while now. Fun. better now than later I suppose. I will never b able to get it all so will try the light starvation for what I can't get.

I have never posted a pic so wasn't sure how to do it.
That was all I could come up with. Need to learn more about computers.

Go to www.photobucket.com (it's free)

It uploads them right from your PC and you post them on any forum(I belong to a few forums). Really easy. Just takes a little bit to figure it out. After that it's easy.

Ok, I need to figure out something different cause RC only lets u download 50k and the picture is biger than that.
