Just Got me a pair of KING angels and not talking passer here!!!!

Yes indeed I was just joking. Wishing it were true. Chris is correct that there were a couple of kingi's available about a month ago and may still be around. As Eric mentioned the one kingi pulled through and the picture below shows the amazing skill Blue Harbor has with fish. Talk about an amazing turn around. This fish is stunning!!!!!!!

Dang, I knew there was going to be a few of these available, and you had me fooled...

I was thinking, Tim doesn't mess around! :eek2:

I, too,m would like to hear more about their us "availability". As mentioned, they are illegal to export from South Africa for the aquarium trade, so I am curious how exactly they got here.

i think the other dead giveaway would be that in the picture the bucket is definitely outside. This time of year on Long Island that water would be frozen in about 10 minutes!

The ones that have made it to the Asian markets are not coming out of South Africa, Kingi's are found some other places in extremely small quantities.

Like where (that is collecting for the aquarium trade)? I was under the understanding that the "famous" one in Japan (in the Angelfishes book) was exported out of South Africa on a SNAFU (the owner went, collected it "himself" under a specific "purpose", and thus was able to export it as his property). I may have those details confused, but from what I understand, it was from SA. I know there are found outsid the boundaries of SA, but am unaware of any collection points for the aquarium hobby in such locales. Kinda like Gem tangs. Found up and down East Africa, but the only real aquarium collection point is Mauritus.

I'm pretty sure the one your speaking of in Japan came out of Mozambique but copps would have to chime in to verify. I also didn't mean to imply that anyone was actively collecting, only that if you wanted to find a Kingi and avoid the SA export issues then Mozambique is the place to do it from. Quite frankly if your going to be in the market for a 10k+ fish then you could probably afford to just go and collect it yourself and save some cash.
