Interesting look. What lighting was going on when you shot it? And how did you handle color in post processing? Looks rather saturated from this side of the pond.

Thank you for your kind comments.
According to my printer the Eizo screen i have is well calibrated and saturation has not been increased while post treating the picture.
Saturation should look the same on both sides of the pond ... on a "well" calibrated screen ;)

As far as the lighting ... one year later, i don't remember, except the five 400W HQI were off when i shot this one.

I must be mistaking the intensity of the original colors for saturation. Pardon. I calibrated my screen a couple weeks ago with Spyder3Pro.

Five 400w hqi! Nice...

With a good screen you are now set for a while ;)
By the way, how do YOU handle color while post processing?
Always interested in how others proceed ...

Yes, calibrating my screen was a good move and brought my screen much closer to the output of my printer. I recommend it to anyone who is even casually concerned with how their screen looks.

I went through a brief period of riding the saturation slider pretty hard in my earliest days. There's something about images dripping with color that I find attractive. And corals can be so colorful.

These days I don't deliberately change colors very much other than setting the white balance / color temp when I open a RAW image. I am still learning though and currently am playing more with exposure and brightness than color.

I notice two different drives in me while post processing. One is to make an accurate digital representation of the subject and the other is to create an interesting / beautiful image based on the subject. I currently find it more challenging to be accurate than abstract.

On this site I think accurate images are generally more appropriate as the husbandry of the subjects, their health and thus their appearance is the core of why most of us are here. I also think we need a thread for images where the goal is not duplication of subject but visual interest.
