Just ordered my package

Just ordered "The Package" from TBS, when the rock arrives I will post plenty of pictures! This is my first time purchasing from TBS and I am very excited after seeing the pictures posted here.
Any advice for when my package arrives?

Reefer - congrats on the purchase - I'm sure you will be pleased. Follow the instructions on TBS's website, and an instruction sheet will also come with the package. Follow that, and you will be just fine. I am waiting for the second part of my package to be ready -the weather here in Florida has been unkind to Richard lately. My cycle was very light and quick, but I picked mine up from him locally so I'm sure that made a difference. Richard packs things VERY well, so I don't think you'll have any trouble. I can't wait to see the second part of my package. Richard really is excellent, and the rock is everything you have read about.

I put part 1 in the tank on friday night, just follow the directions. I haven't had an ammonia reading over .5 yet, no water changes to date. Make sure you check the bags for creatures, I poured the bags through a strainer, found extra creatures I would've missed. I've only found one bad crab so far, kids like him, but he'll disappear soon....

Just got my package all in the tank and the system running. Just need to hang my light. As soon as the water clears i'll try and get some pics up ASAP. Rock looks pretty cool, but I havn't seen it in clear water yet! Cant wait until everything settles.

steve i will try to get my camera to ur place asap but i cant wait for part two and i hope you get a mantis in it (richard, if you could throw a wearnnea in there that would be sweet thanks in adance cause i would be getting it)

so steve whats your ammonia at now? and i will come and take some pics of the tank!!!

btw i left my filter sponge and sweatshirt and hat at ur place lol

anyways i will see u later

bye

Wow!
Richard part 2 looks amazing. Looks like every rock in part two had some kind of coral growth. I found one hithhiker mantis that im waiting to move in on. Thank you for the anemones, coral, sponges, and inverts! Aquascaping was a chore due to the amount of life on the rocks. I think I have arranged it to best show everything off.

Thank you again Richard, you're my new LR source.

Sorry, I'm new at this, but what is all the stuff on the glass? I'm not sure I like that! Is it necessary? I thought the point of the live rock and sand was to keep the tank nice and clean!

Confused.....

Confused.....

stuff on the glass, coraline Alge

it's a "Good Thing" to see it means that the water params, the lighting and the rest are fairly good in that tank.

like coral it uses calcium in the water to build it's tissue. it is most commonly purple /lavender in color but can be in any of several colors.

it will grow on almost any surface in the water... on pumps, on glass, on rocks, on snail shells, on clam shells.
