Just ordered my RKE w/net

You may need to log in first. I am unsure. That si the link to my 180 RKE stats. Brandon's worked for me, but I was already logged in. Does it so the same with Brandon's link (assuming you are logged out and have closed and re-opened your browser)?

It actually shouldn't ask you to log in to see them. It should just take you to the right link. That's interesting.

I can view my tank either way. Hmmm...

Edit: Looks like Chuck has made some changes. :) You do have to log-in now.

Try logging in and THEN clicking on the link, MVlk.

Edit #2: That won't work either. Chuck broke the site. :p

What's your username, Andy, and we should be able to just browse to your tank.

Mine is, believe it or not, NeveSSL. :D

WOW that's Novel!! Why didn't I think of that? Oh wait..I did..strangely enough...mine's andywe ! woohoo! :-P

I'm not at all familiar with the site linked above but FWIW, when I click the link in Brandon's post it takes me to his tank status but when I click andywe's it asks me to login.

I did not try Brandon's link initially, but yep... it does work OK.

Very cool, can you interface the controller to a speech synthesizer so that it can talk to you... would be cool to be greeted by your tank in a HAL voice. :)

Ha, this thread blew up :)

There is a [share] link at the top for a share link of your reef. What needs to happen is the user should be redirected to your public feed if you give out the private url. Right now, it's confusing for the people that use it, so I'll put this on the list. All part of the process. For now, you can see andy's tank here:

Just copy and paste your [share] link. Super un-user friendly :)

Update!!

Ok, SO I have moved over the lights, return pump, skimmer, heater, and moonlights.

I have programmed lighting, tempature, feed cycle, alarms for return pump, skimmer, tempature, PH, and set email for them.

I am in th midst of advanced programming for the temp alarm that if the tank reaches 85 degrees to kill the MH lights. heater shuts off at 80.3 at the socket.

All I can say is this thing is sweet!!

Next is to move the last gear, my powerheads to this thing, but I think I'm going to need another PC-4. I also want to get the PC expansion module for the MH as they do not have a wattage limit per socket. That will make things easier and allow me to split those onto another circuit (I installed two 20amp circuit saturday with GFI jsut for the tank).

After that, order another 2 float switches from aquahub and put 1 in the return pump area to monitor level there, and if it gets low to shut off the return pump. The other for my ATO resevoir (which will also get put onto the RKE) to control that plug and not turn on the pump if it is too low.

The possibilites are endless. If I go with a calc reactor and another PH probe, it will interface with the CO2 controller, dosing pumps, ect....man I love this thing.

Yeah, I'm going to try to get 3 PC4's when I get mine, too, so I can put my koralias and my skimmer feedpump on it. :)

Glad you're enjoying it!

You did just give me an idea, though... what about a float switch that is about an inch from the bottom of your ATO reservoir that sends you an email just before you run out. Hmmm... I like it. I'm going to have to buy the SW5, too. :)

I am such a lazy reefer... :D

Brandon

Oh man... I'm about 90% positive I just sold my Aquatronica... and for the same price that I can get an RKE, net module, and an extra PC4! I'm pumped! :D

Now I've got to save up for an SW5 so I can do all of these fancy things with float switches. ;)

I also may need to build a small cabinet to put all of this junk into! Its beginning to get a bit ridiculous behind my tank, and with 4 extra outlets to control, it could literally get dangerous... hmmm...

Anyway, how is your RKE, Andy? I think I noticed you posting with the shut down issue on the DA forum. Is that right?

Brandon

Yep. That bug hit me. The fix is out within the next few days.

I still think this thing is awesome. The alerting worked, and the data capture is great to have.

Sorry to hear that. Glad to know the beta firmware will be out soon, though.

Have you tried to remedy it in any way or are you just dealing with it until the new firmware is out?

Last I've heard, some people are able to take a PC4 or other module off of the system and it keeps the system from shutting down.

Update.

It's been a few weeks, the kinks are worked out, and man oh man!! This baby rocks!!

I also compared this to the Neptune Apex...and very glad I bought the RKE. Much more possibility and a better bus.

Short story:

my boss comes down to my office yesterday with my paycheck. He closes the door slowly, and then proceeds to tell me something before he hands me my paycheck.

This is one of those terrifying moments in your life that makes you feel horrible.

He then starts a little speech about how good of a Job I've done, and he had to fight hard for this, and proceeds to hand me a bonus check.

So after wiping the sweat off my forehead and telling him he scared the snot out of me, I decided what to do with it.

So I ordered a RKE with Net :)

---

So I'll be hitting you guys up for some help soon enough.

I woulda ordered a SW5 as well, but they were out of stock. Guess that'll wait till next month.

Going to be interesting using a RKE on a tank that is cycling.

Sweet! Congrats on your bonus!

It may be too late, but the best price I've seen is $550 with net module from AquaCave after using their ReefCentral discount (coupon code RC5). :)

There are quite a few of us getting these things now, which is not a bad thing. We can have quick support for each other should the need arise. :)

Oh, and the SW5 hasn't been released yet, but should be soon (even though it says out of stock, they technically haven't released it yet).

Brandon

I just ordered it directly from DA. Not to worried about it, but saving 50 bucks woulda been nice.

oh well. I'm a little more comfortable buying from them directly with a purchase of this amount anyways.
