Well, my additional float switches will be arriving from Chicago Sensor around the 20th. Then I can get them going :-)

I was literaly awake in bed at 1am last night dreaming up uses for RKE plus float switches, making things redundant and trying to control way to much with what I have currently... :P

http://www.aquahub.com/store/floatswitches.html

Good price on side mounted float switches, maybe get enough people to get a discount on em.

My goal is to have a Float in the ATO box to let the RKE know if there is water or not, and if there is not, to email me to fix the problem.

Def going to purchase a SW5 once they are released, and setup a lot of automation with extra safety checks to deal with evaporation.

Lol... I know the feeling of late night RKE dreams. :) And I'm anxious to get the SW5 too and I have many ideas for it as well. One guy mentioned doing remote standbys on a momentary switch on the SW5. Or maybe even like a toggle that would turn something on or off while it closed the circuit... Hmmm... I'm getting excited again. :D

I just received 3 more ifloat switches from aquahub toady (Chicago Sensor).

Now think of tghings, and then add a PC1 into the mix which gives you 3 virtual channels....hmm that could be real interesting.

Needless to say at some point I am going to be wiring my SL1 up to float switches betwen tis evening and this weeked.

Next week my thrid PC-4 will arrive too..and I will add that to the mix.

Hehe now you have the spirit Brandon!!

I have already completed the ATOP sensor in my resovoir..works great. Sends me an alarm and shuts off the pump if it gets too low.

I also already have mapped out my sump level sensor so that if it gets too low it will shutoff the skimmer, sump, and heater and email me.

Another use in the future will be for high sump water level. I it gets too high I might install a solenoid valve that when operation normally returns to the tank, or if the sump gets too high opens into an alternate path to a drain to keep from flooding the room and flashes, beeps, and emails me. It's a worst case scenario but still a last resort safegaurd.

Honestly, I'm planning on having a couple of last resort safeguards on my SW5. ;)

As well as some fun, uber geeky switches that do "stupid reef tricks". I'm mean, I'm talking red "armed" switch. I may even get one that glows and says "armed" when engaged.

Or maybe something like this:

:D

I think I need to go to sleep now... I'm becoming a wee bit delirious... and I'm nervous about this interview!

I've got most of it going. :)

I'm having issues with DynDNS I think, but the ethernet module is communicating as it should... DynDNS just doesn't seem to want to work, so its not communicating with ReefNook just yet. :)

I'm working on it, though. I think I may just re-boot my router as it is actually what keeps my DynDNS account up to date and it doesn't appear as though it has updated my IP recently.

I've also got to work on my wiring, which is what I plan on doing today... its pretty rough! But its going well so far.

This will have to do for now. I don't need no stinkin' wiring cabinet, but I would still like one. :D

Notice the room at the top for more modules. ;) Also, the masking tape will be replaced with labels from my label maker once I get some plastic tape for it.

Brandon

ahhh....a project in progress....add more modules, add a cabinet....there is just no end to projects :)......and you love it!

You know me well, Norman! :) I really do think that the constant projects is one aspect of the hobby that absolutely keeps me hooked. In addition to all of the animals, of course. ;)

Soon I'm hoping to get a 300g tank and add a house to it. :D

Brandon,

Think we can make a deal with Ocea on 2 of them? My wife and I were discussing a 300-500 gallon tonight. Trouble is, every time we have discussed a tank, we have ended up with it within 60 days...LOL
