Juvenile Fish ID- GSM or WSM W/PIC?

I have had this fish in QT for 3 weeks now. It was sold as a CB GSM, but I am wondering if it is a WSM. I realize that they do not get the golden bars until they are older, but I have been unable to find the barb on the cheek (used to help id GSM). I was not sure if anyone could help me out by using the photo. The fish is about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches. Thanks

Just FYI the barb is on all Maroons, not just GSMs. It is hard to tell at that age if it is a GSM or a WSM in my opinion.

I was wondering about that. What size would the fish actually start changing colors if it is going to? I am sure that there are variables. Thanks for the help.

IMO I believe its a WSM for the reason that the bands are really white rather than a cream(pastel) white.

How old is it btw?

I am really not sure of the age of the fish. I wanted to purchase a juvenile GSM and this fish was labeled as a Captive Bred Gold Stripe Maroon. I it about 1 1/2". I guess that I will have to wait and see, but I am leaning toward it being a WSM for sure. I was not sure if there was any defininte way to tell on a small one.
