Lol. I'll be happy if they don't kill each other. I'll update over the weekend.

The other two has settled in quite well.

Here's the new gal

So Kevin,

How many does that make now? There aren't many more to buy I would think. LOL

For everyone that has posted here we should just about have all that were available. It was like a frenzy!

Really enjoy the pics from everone.

Thanks

After seeing how vibrant the smaller juv BLs are so when I saw this one on the wysiwyg section listed at 1.5" I grabbed right away. It would be nice to watch these 3 growing up the next couple of years. So far the bigger one has ignored the 2 smaller ones and the med one is still chasing the new one occasionally as of this morning. I haven't seen them eat prepared food yet but they are all nipping on the LRs.

You're right the supply has pretty much dried up. Look forward to seeing everyone's new addition and experiences here.

So you are the one who bought that juvi i wanted on bluezoo, I bought one from the regular fish section and even though he still has some of the juvi coloration he is pushing 2.5". I have a question im sure someone can answer, how did such a big batch come in? in my time in the hobby i had never seen that many bls available at the same time. I was able to see 2 juvis in person at my lfs and wait out a couple days to buy one from an online retailer.

Yes, I got the smaller one (listed at 1.5"). When I got home and saw the email I was surprised that it was still available along with the 2" specimen. I don't trust the listed size anymore but I trust the picture posted (wysiwyg section) and it has the nice juv color). The price was definitely right so there was no hesitation on my part to get it. LA still have them with size between 1 1/2 - 2 1/8.

I've never seen so many BL at one time let along juv size so I'm very happy with the purchases.

I hear you on being happy, even though i did not get a complete juvi im more than satisfied and for the price i had to take a chance, at the usual $300 and up i was hesitant to try. Im going to try frozen mysis tonight when i get home and see how that goes, otherwise ill hatch some brine.

I couldn't resist and picked up a juvie BL from LA, she's been in the 60 gallon refugium since Wednesday. Its been nearly 48 hours since she came out of the bag and today was her grand appearance. She had been in hiding in her rock and algae palace and just content to peep out at me until today when she ventured forth! Still very shy but in magnificent shape, nice job Kevin, she ate some mysis and nibbled live rock and macro.

Shes about 2 1/4 inches, nice and plump and not a mark on her. I will try and get a pic but its hard in the refugium. This sure was a nice bunch of fish for the price and I am glad I got one.

Kahuna, congrat on getting a nice juv BL and hope to see some pix soon. I'm pretty sure she'll come out and be swimming in the open in no time. All 3 of mine came out in the open after couple of hours acclimation and I've an aggressive Coral Beauty in there. All 3 BLs held their own very well.

Now that I got a chance to sit back and looked over the pictures to determine the sizes of the 3 BLs I think the juv color phase out between 2.5-2.75". Can anyone confirm this?

Tip to tip 1 7/8"

This one is about 3/8" larger so my guess is 2 1/4"

The largest is about 1/2" bigger than the med one so my guess is 2 3/4"

After watching them the last couple of days I noticed they can hold their own very well just as the adult BLs and the larger one ate a ric with 7 polyps overnight all by herself. So watch out! So far they didn't touch any zoa yet.

Kevin,

Hows the aggression between the two smaller ones you have? I have noticed that the large one doesnt' even pay attention to the small ones. The two little ones continue to go at it through out the day.

The first of the little ones I introduced to the DT tank is the one picking on the newest entry.

Here are some pic's of the newest and a few of them all.

Does look pretty normal to me and like that they will work out the order, I need to monitor mine a couple more days. Seems to be a little more aggressive on this end.

Maybe this will dye down soon or else I will be sitting up with fishing line and a beer waiting to drop the trap door in my fish catcher!

Very interesting setup you have there Kevin, like that a lot.

Well it's amazing how fast things can change, the two little ones have worked it out, ay least for now their is no chasing around. I am really glad for this as I thought maybe I owuld have to add the smaller one to my LPS tank as a loner.

Will monitor still. Hopefully all good now!

I'm pretty sure they'll be able work things out on their own in due time. BLs are pretty much like Meredithi, aggressive but knows when to run for cover. My BL pair been together for always a year now and the smaller one still gets chase around but my Meredithi pair been together close to 2 years now and the larger on stopped chasing the smaller one few months back.

The new batch are currently in a 120g sump that I purchased from a local reefer in anticipation of my DT upgrade but various projects has taken longer and more costly to complete that the tank upgrade isn't likely going to happen this year. The sump came with 150lb of LRs with various corals and I added some frags also. It's equipped with a 4300 ghp ext pump for circulation and I think it may be a bit too strong for little ones as they tend to rest on the base rock side where the filter sock normally goes. I also had to add a drop-in chiller to cool the tank even though this tank is in the basement as we are having record 90+ degree days here.

It's hard to measure as they are constantly swimming, but the smallest one is less than 1.75" It has 5 blue stripes across the middle. Bigger one is about 2 1/4 -2 1/2" and looks like a mini adult. Smallest one is devouring Hikari small mysis and live brine. Big one will eat some mysis and loves live brine. No issues with the two. I'll try and get some pics. Hikari small mysis is a great food for smaller and finicky fish. Many of my smaller fish like it after they have been chopped up into smaller pieces by a power head.

Yep, it is hard to measure them once they are in the tank. I usually measure and take pics after acclimating.

Over the weekend I ran into this guy and guess what I said?

"Bag em' Danno!"

2" over all.

LargeAngels, Nice to see that yours are starting to eat, you are right about them swimming all over, they are always on the move picking at the liverock and stuff.

euod, Nice grab there. I see that they have a juvi coming up today in the divers den.

Keep the pics coming!
