Juvi Blueline Angelfish

Brian,

That's one great looking juv BL! If I live that close to RHS it would be my second home.

Congrat on a beautiful fish! Is it under 2"?

She is about 1.5" to 1.75", pretty tiny. The smallest I have received yet.

Brian, Are you afraid that it might not receive enough food in the display? I know that being this small there metabolism is pretty fast and should be feed ever hour or so. Just wondering if your other fish will out compete it :).

Every hour.....Are you serious? How can the working person feed a fish every hour?

HI Brian,

I have added this new little girl to my LPS tank which only has the one Hooded Fairy wrasse in it. She eats plenty and had no real competition for food. That was a good point though.
 
I find my little one picking off the rocks for pods and algae more than off the water column.

2" angel I feed 4X per day and under 2" I try feeding 6X per day. I know that's probably not enough but it's the best I can do.

I guess I should have stated that I feed every hr I'm home. Which works out to 6-8 feeding per day :).

It was a shot at you, just me more or less pointing out that these little guys need to be feed often. I glad that you realize this and have it in a location that suits it needs ;).
 
Well I work from 7 to 4. So the most mine gets fed a day is 3 times....My lights don't come on till 1pm. I think most working people are not home most of the day so to sqeeze 6-8 feedings in every day would be really hard....

I think those folks use auto feeders...

Mine just really turned a corner and is now feeding well and not nearly as shy as she had been. I was really worried as she didn't appear to be feeding but all the time she didn't appear to be losing weight so she was definately feeding on something. thats the beauty of having her in the fuge, there always seems to be something to snack on. The yellow on her head is really starting to break up quickly and I can see blue lines coming through from underneath.

I also see LA has them on sale for $149.00, thats a great price for a juvie.

What do you all think about adding a smaller juvie blueline to my existing changeling which is at about 2 1/2 inches. Would love to get a pair/harem going for sure.
