jynxtrix's Forcibly Propogated Haddoni Anemone

Carpets

Not a good idea. There is about 100% chance you will lose at least one of the halves and about 75% chance you will lose both halves.

The one thing i notice in all the pictures is that the anemones look terribly stressed and have lots of open area between tentacles rows.

Cutting an animal in half no matter what the circumstances is very stressful and consumes huge amounts of energy.

Anemones dont split naturally for good reasons, alot of times it is a response to danger or adverse conditions or change.

If the OP was successful, we would have had updates, especially after all the heated discussion.

Yup.

I'm always skeptical of OPs in threads like these when they're instantly slinging insults and spoiling for a fight at the first hint of skepticism. IMO, successful experimentation includes a willingness to listen to others, a healthy dose of humility, and a lot of patience (such as being willing to wait months, even a year or more, before claiming success). Blustering, name-calling, and ranting about "negativity" don't make their claims any more believable.

I appreciate the feedback. I was hoping for a successful update. The last thing I want to do is harm an animal that could be 3 times my age.

This is a link to a thread where a guy bought a successfully fragged haddoni. (Both pieces were still alive)

Note that even after 7 months the anemone still had not yet become a full circle again. That is not a sign of an animal that is easily fragged. He also mentions that the anemone is still not as robust as he would like it to be. So even though you would probably call it successful, the anemone still wasn't back to "normal".

It just doesn't go well often enough to make it a good idea. Carpets just don't have the regenerative abilities of a BTA.

Does anybody know if this guy ever posted if the propagation was successful?

Has anybody successfully fragged a Haddoni long term?
