If I had to use only one it would be a Ca reactor over a Kalk reactor. There's just no way I could keep up with alk and Ca using just kalk and the PH just goes up way too high. With a Ca reactor there's no problem keeping alk and ca levels up to par but then the PH tends to run lower then normal that's why these two work so well together. I'm sure there are people that have had perfict PH using just one of these reactors, generally one will raise PH and the other will lower it that's why you see so many sps reefers using both.
