I have always picked them up at Savko in Columbus when I was down there or called them and paid shipping but they charge like $8 for shipping on one or two valves.

HERE'S A LINK

I like to call them and place the order since there was a problem with their website last year and some credit card info was hi-jacked. You also get to tell them specifically what you want and they check inventory right then.

Went to all of these this morning ,,,, notta ,,,,, looks like on-line ,,,,you would think there would be one of these in Northern Ohio somewhere for petes sake ,,,,,,,,,,, 1 1/4 slip fit

McMaster Carr is where I got my gate valve. You can order to have it shipped or will call it and pick it up. The 1 1/2" valve I got from them was like $24.00. They have a huge facility ih Aurora.

Sounds like you coulda had it delivered to your door in 2 days for $29 and not had to burn any gas and get the runaround at each place. I hate looking for specific parts locally anymore. I ended up going to 5 different hardware/auto parts stores looking for the correct O-Ring for a pump I had when I could have probably found it online and saved the hour and a half or more of stopping places and talking to people that had no clue.

The one slip x slip 1.25" gate valve that savko has is gray too so it will match your ASM output. :)

If you are going to stick with the ASM skimmer you should try the recirc mod. It makes a HUGE improvement in how much it skims.

that recirc mod is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy tempting ,,,,,, this skimmer is brand new sitting here in the box ,,, i wanted to put a small fuge in this 20 gal long sump ,, the recirc mod looks like it would take up a bit more room in my sump ,,,,,, i see it can be mod for the pump to sit along side , not in line with the skimmer though , in line would make it 4 inches longer , plus the pump ,,,it would make it approx 8 inches longer ..... its going on a 72 gal Oceanic bow front , so this is the skimmer i will live and die with ,,, G-2 should do a great job for this size tank ,,,,,,, well see if temptation gets the best of me !!!

wheres my drill ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, its starting already ..................

Gate valve mod is the win! I don't know how I lived with out it LOL =) I've got the mesh mod on hand but haven't installed it yet....

Hi All,

McMaster Carr is great, good people and daily will call pickup.
If you need any kind of hard to find nut, bolt, screw, plastic or metal that is the place to go. This place is such a great resource to have in NE Ohio. No I don't work for them.
