Kdoc's 210g Reef Tank

Nice :D! Good to see the goby is still alive :)... Looks like it is just enjoying a peaceful existence :)
Cool dog, looks tired
I finally put up some new pics :p...

Ok not much of an update...

Selling some purple hornet polyps very soon... Made the frags already, just waiting for them to heal.

Will be getting a few leathers as a trade for my PH's (maybe)

I need to stock this bad boy up for the winter :)

Anyways, how is everyone (or anyone)

You need to put some new pics up man! :p
Haha, stocking that bad boy up sounds good! What do you think you'll get?

I'm not to bad, crazy at uni at the moment :(...x

Im thinking of just getting some softies for the left side of the tank... I REALLY wanna set up a frag tank to clear out some of the stuff in my display tank and keep things growing. Stuff is just laying around in the display tank and its kind of getting annoying, having to blow the sand off of them every day.

GOSH I cant wait until this semester of school is over. I'm sick of it, and we're only 1/2 done >.<

Just thinking about it makes me stressed... cant I just hit the lotto and have all this stress be done with lol.

Not much is going on. Been a crazy semester in school.

The tank isnt looking to hot by the way.

The blue spotted jawfish decided to jump out of the tank (didnt expect it to get out of a 30" tall tank :()
All 3 of my tanks died as well. I think it was just the stress of them being in the same tank. I'm really upset about that because they all were great looking. One day the just looked terrible and completely covered in ich, and within a week all 3 died. I havent added a fish since, and don't plan on adding any other fish (because Ich is in my system).

Other than that, my diamond goby is looking awesome, and doing a great job sifting the sand. The clownfish are happy and healthy as can be. My RBTA is getting to be gigantic. My pink tipped Haitian anemone has been moving all over the place, which is getting pretty annoying lol. I wish there was a way to just get the ich out of my system, but getting the fish out of the tank to QT them and cure them would be impossible, especially with a diamond goby.

Since I cant really get the fish out to treat them, I've made the decision to just not add any more fish. Corals are looking great though. Purple hornets are growing like crazy, my dragon eyes are freaking growing like nuts, even on the back glass. My GSP is also going nuts, and I need to trim it down ALOT, but I have nowhere to put it. I'm thinking about giving it away or something.

But other than the fish tank, I just cant wait for the semester to be over. I only have about 3 weeks left, than freedom for about a month or month and a half.

How bout you Mitch, how are things going on your tank? How do you like COD MW2?!?!? I've gotten a nuke like 15 times already lol.

That sucks about the jawfish and the tangs man :(... Yer, it's crazy how long ich can survive, hopefully one day you'll be able to get rid of it and start adding more fish again :)... Glad to hear that everything else is doing so well :)... We need a new photo of the RBTA :D! And a new FTS!

I was so glad when my semester ended (about 1.5wks ago)! You actually start to get a life back (apart from the fact i'm working 4 days a week :P...)

My tank is going ok, I posted an update on my thread today as well, still battling bryopsis, and had a temperature problem, but all seems to be under control, just waiting for the bryopsis to die :P...

OMG!!! MW2 is freaking awesome!!! I've never gotten the nuke :(... We have to catch up online some time and play, i'll be on tonight my time, in like 7hrs or so time???

Lol in 7 hrs it'll be about 7a.m here so I doubt I'll be up lol.

I've actually noticed a little byprosis on my frag rack in my DT lately. I took the frag rack out and scrubbed all the byprosis off, and did the same for all my frags. It looks like it has helped. But other than it being on the frag racks, I havent noticed it anywhere else luckily.

Haha, kk, good point :P... I still managed to get on last night, had a couple of really good games :)

I hate byprosis, it's the worst algae in the world! I'm glad you caught yours before it seemed to spread :)... Hopefully your tank stays free of that devil reincarnated weed!

Well I haven't posted here in forever. I have decided recently to "DO WHAT I GOTTA DO", and eradicate the problems in my tank.

The problems right now are:
Ich (which has always been a problem)
Flatworms (came out of nowhere!

I will take care of the ich by getting my current fish out and into a QT. I'm purchasing a few more fish as well, so I'm going to just treat them all together. I'll let them settle into the QT for about a week, then start copper treatment

The flatworms have been a little beet overwhelming in the sense that I'm not sure how I want to take care of them. First I thought about getting a wrasse, but then I thought about getting Flatworm Exit, but then realized I didnt want to risk the tank, so now I'm back to getting a wrasse. I really am trying to find out the BEST wrasse to get (for Flatworms), before I buy one. Hopefully I'll have some good luck and the wrasse will eat them non stop (I of course would siphon them out as well).

Well just thought I'd update this for once, (not like anyone really pays attention to it.. other than you Mitchell)

Haha, I'm glad that you know I still pay attention :D!

That sucks about the Ich and Flatworms :(... I'm pretty sure TJ (tswifty) picked up a wrasse to deal with his flatworms, so maybe checkout his thread to see what he picked up, might save you a bit of research time :)...
As for the Ich pulling them in to a QT tank sounds like a good idea :)... There's a certain cycle that the Ich go through, and if your display is without fish for quite some time they eventually completely die in that system, so you'll be able to eradicate it from the main tank. Is copper treatment recommended? I always thought copper was a big no no with our saltwater fish :S?

We need to see some new photos too man :D! (not that I can talk  )

Ha... Good to talk to you again my friend. Yeah I plan on treating the fish for however long the copper treatment takes, then keep them in the QT for ~1.5-2 months to eradicate the ich in the DT. I just hope I can get the damn fish out!

I have read that copper treatment is the "Sure Cure" for ich. I could do Hyposalinity, but it takes longer, and I dont want to be worried about the salinity all the time. Plus Copper treatment is quicker, so I assume the fish would be happy about that. Copper is a big nono when talking about DT's.. it will kill your inverts and corals.

Yeah I plan on taking some new pictures if everything goes as planned. If you dont see pictures, I guess you can assume that I screwed up, but you could always message me on Facebook :)

Short update:
Getting the QT tank this week (hopefully!)
My RBTA (FINALLY) split!!!
I siphoned out a bunch of the flatworms 2 days ago, and more has come out. I may siphon more out tomorrow.

Yay for the QT tank :D! You'll be able to start your treatment :D!
Also awesome about the RBTA, wanna send the second one to my house :p?
Does the flatworm population seem to be dwindling yet :)?
Hope all is well man :D!

Wow I'm pretty over-due for a water change lol.. School has been so busy, and I'm going to be coaching a baseball team. I've gotta try to squeeze it in this weekend.

My tank is in dire need of some tender love and care too
Nice work on coaching a baseball team :D! "Coach Kev", I like it :p...
You'll have to keep us up to date with how your team is going :)...

Haha will do, will do. I wonder sometimes why I bother posting here, rather than just sending you an update on facebook, whereas no one else reads this lmao.

Haha, I'm sure other people read it too, they're just ninja's :p...
Haha, I haven't checked facebook in forever :(... I try and stay away otherwise all my uni work never seems to get done

Well guess who's a daddy!!!
My clownfish just laid eggs for the first time in 2-2.5 years!

Now whether to raise them or not.. hmmm.. I'll have to sleep on it (if that's possible). I have a 40g cube in the basement that I could use. You guys think I should go for it, or is it just not worth it?
