Kdoc's 210g Reef Tank

I always see them huge like that for other ppl, but they never grew like that for my and my lighting is serious lol...either way, ur tank looks good...!

Thanks! Yeah I fortunately found someone selling the Naso, Powder Blue, and Yellow tang together, so I knew compatibility/getting a long wasnt an issue. He is a very cool fish. Always active. Sometimes too active lol. He used to swim in circles around my magnetic magfloat. Not sure of this will help you, but I always feed with garlic juice. I've always had ick in my system, and instead of tearing it down and actually treating it, I've suppressed it with feeding with garlic. This has definitely shown to help boost their immune system. Not sure if this will help you (and not that ick is your issue) but if you do end up trying a powder blue again, it may help.

And yeah, if there is one thing that strives in my tank it's soft corals lol. Mushrooms everywhere, huge, and I mean huge, softball size singles stalks of Kenya's trees, the huge toadstools (which I LOVE). I'm gonna try out some sps frags and see how that goes. Maybe a few different colored monti caps on the way bottom left side of the tank.

Cardinals are great when they are small, they school, but then kill each other off when they grow up, look at they other type of cardinals, they school.

New addition! I got a few sweeeet corals too. I'll take pictures of those tomorrow. But in the meantime... (Let me know if these pics are too small)

Some more pics.

New awesome sohal tang. He is a little beat up I think from the previous owner trying to get him out of the tank but he should be fine. Seem fine with everyone in the tank. Powder blue tang seems to be messing with him ever so often but it's only day 1 and it's actually not too bad at all.

What's your full current fish list stocked in the tank? I'm about to get my 210 wet and have been trying to figure out a good fish list. Of course I love the tangs and I'm wondering how many I can comfortably have while still trying to maintain decent water quality since I plan on SPS primarily.

What's your full current fish list stocked in the tank? I'm about to get my 210 wet and have been trying to figure out a good fish list. Of course I love the tangs and I'm wondering how many I can comfortably have while still trying to maintain decent water quality since I plan on SPS primarily.

Currently I have:
Pair of Gold Stripe Maroon Clowns
Sohal Tang
Yellow Tang
Powder Blue Tang
Tomini Tang
Naso Tang
Melanurus Wrasse (commonly thought as reef safe. I had flatworms and he destroyed them. Now he has take a liking to small polyp zoanthids. A price to pay but better then having flatworms)
Diamond Watchman Goby (favorite fish. Keeps the sand nice and clean. Had to stay away from a big one, as the larger ones made my sand blow everywhere. I have fine Caribbean sand which is very powdery. I may change to aragonite someday but things are fine for now)
Sixline Wrasse
Blue Sided Fairy Wrasse
Clown Fairy Wrasse
A few Green Chromis (don't bother trying to school these. I must have gotten a few dozen over time. I have about 3 now. They just die off)
Diadem Dottyback

I am very fortunate with my tangs. They are all beautiful. I added the Naso, Yellow, and Powder Blue Tangs all at once. The Tomini was already in there. I got the Sohal Tang over this past summer, nice and fat. There is occasionally a little bullying, but not much at all. It's safe to say I'm done adding tangs.

My recommendation would be to try to find local reefers selling their livestock. You'll have the best luck buying a group of established and healthy fish.

If you have any questions about livestock or equipment feel free to ask. Thanks for your interest in my tank!

late update

late update

It's been a while since my last update. I ended up having a real bad crash. Not sure exactly from. It may have been from some sand that I added to the tank that wasn't rinsed enough, but there also was a faulty powerhead that I think was giving off stray voltage and harming the fish.

Long story short, every single fish died (all my corals survived and didn't look harmed at all). Sad to see my fish go, as some of them I've had for a while (the female gold stripe maroon clown was about 10 years old :sad2: ) I tried to save them but it was too late. I think they all broke out with something due to the stress.

So, this was back in January/February. I left the tank fallow for a few months, and got back into adding fish. I know I should have/should always quarantine the fish but I just don't have the time to do it, between 2 jobs and a small/mini business of my own.

I revamped my rock work and added a few corals and the following fish:

Yellow Tang
Purple Tang
Chevron Tang
Sohal Tang
Sleeper Goby
Pair of Black Snowflake Clowns
Mystery Wrasse
Lineatus Wrasse
Scott's Fairy Wrasse - Australia

When I first added some of the fish, I had already noticed a bit of an ich outbreak. I quickly took the plunge (against my previous belief) and got myself a 40w Emperor Aquatics UV with proper flow rate through it. Now it may be coincidence but I'm thinking it had a bit to do with the UV, the ich outbreak disappeared (of course still in the tank, but unnoticeable on the fish themselves) and my fish are looking extremely healthy and happy (knock on wood).

I'm very happy with the way things are looking. I really just want to add an awesome little school of some cool looking cardinals and call it a day with fish probably.

I do want to add a big arch/bridge of live rock to connect the two rock islands to give it some more depth (and to add places for corals).

I'm going to snap some photos of the tank and a few some close ups of the fish for you guys to see, when I get home later.
