I've never even heard of it? I guess I'll show some from my walk at the beach today. Just because I didn't know about a special event doesn't mean I didn't go out and take photographs on my own!

What a strange wave:

I could go on forever...I had a little over 250 "keepers" today
The waves were AWESOME this morning but I coudln't be bothered to get out of the water and take pictures until it craped out.

TS you thread pirate!

I like the tight tube (#2), the strange wave and the third from the end with the vertical arms and no water directly beneath the board. 1/1000th of a second is your friend!

I'm no thread pirate! Long walks on the beach need to be represented in the world-wide photo walk!

Basically anyone who went shooting yesterday with or without realizing you were part of something, post what you got! :)

Matt - I like the first shot. Draws me right in. Is no 5 a sprocket of some sort?

TS - I take it you live at the beach huh? Not a bad place to be. I would have to get back into shape again if I spent that much time at the beach! Up here in AK it's easy to hide a few extra pounds under clothes...luckly there aren't too many extra ones, but more than I'd like if I were an offical beach bum :)

You wouldn't have to get back into shape before you spend as much time as I do at the beach. That is like saying you need to get into shape before you join a gym. Surfing alone will harden those abs and make Spartians envy your arms just to say thanks for coming and see ya soon.

Did anybody else participate in the Worldwide Photo Walk last weekend?

I've never heard of it either.

Yeah, but I don't like sand in my shorts....(lol). Yeah, I'll bet surfin' burns the calories, but not like mtn biking!

IPT - thanks! The first one is the one I submitted to the "contest". #5 is a piece of a large gear that drives a carousel (a carousel horse is in the first shot).

For the rest of you, check out http://www.worldwidephotowalk.com - it is organized by Scott Kelby, and has several sponsors, including Adobe, NAPP, Kelby Training, etc. There were thousands of walkers at over 900 locations around the world this year. I had a lot of fun, and met some great people who share my interest in photography. I highly recommend the event to any of you for next year.

I participated. Haven't been on this site for a couple weeks, so I missed this thread. :D

here are a couple of mine.

in spirit of TS's posts....my photowalk really was at the beach. :D

and ended at my favorite pub. ;)

Those are snakebites. Sometimes I prefer the draft cider over the smithwicks. SOMETIMES.

Yeah, it was a great time. Did more BSing and laughing with peer photogs than anything else.

There's always next year.

And if they don't have a walk in titsuville...sign up to be the walk leader and get one started there.

Yes, always next year. I know I will be there. :) BTW - vbjimmie - did you happen to notice the balance between Nikon and Canon on your walk? I noticed that it was about 50/50 with my group. Just curious. :)
