Kent Sea Salt

I use Kent salt. I have a white 55 gallon drum that I mix salt in. The inside of the white drum turns brownish orange after a short while. I scrubbed it out once, I thought it was rust off an old maxi-jet impeller. So i replaced the maxi-jet. It did it again. I havent noticed the any ill effects on my livestock. Anyone had this happen/ know what the heck it might be? If it is just some type of deposit why is it orangish?

Precipitation, of what ? I do not know.
Red - orange usually asscociated with Iron or Iodine.

As long as ALK, Calcium, Mag, pH are good I would not worry.

P.S. you are the only person I know who uses Kent.

Oh ok. it could be brown i just associated it with rust from the impeller the first time. But its probably brown. Could be a reaction to whatever was in the drum before i got it. I cleaned it very well but im sure there was still something in there.
