kenya tree question...

Are kenya tree's heat sensative? The past 2 days my kenya has been wilting, and the only thing that has changed is the water temp with this heat wave that CT is having. The tank has gotten up to 82 during the hottest part of the day, and I got fans on it right away. Nothing else has suffered, all my zoas, brains, acans, scoly, shrooms, xenia, sps... all full polyp open and happy

30 gal rimless tank:
2 bulb T5HO 39w & 20 LED combo
SG 1.023
Ca 440
Mg 1410
ph 8.2-8.4
Nitrate 2
Nitrite 0
Phos <.01

being in CT also, my tank's temp has risen a lot! I just did a water change today to keep the temperature down. My Kenyan tree is very young and small, but it seems fine in my 75 gallon tank even with the heat. It is definitely possible that the temperature is doing this, but i think you'd c other corals having issues.

Yeah your's looks fine, mine isnt huge either, but about double that ones size. He is mounted up on a rock wal and literally is hanging upsidedown. Makes me fel terrible :(

I wanted to do a w/c and forgot to take home DI water today from work, and I can't use the water at my hoise so I gotta wait till Monday, grrrr!

Are you sure it wasn't just shedding? From what I've observed it isn't as obvious as leathers, but they do go through a similar process. They look sick for anywhere from a day to a few days, then pop back up (sometimes with a growth spurt).

Well, I went away for the weekend for a bachelor party and just got home an hour ago... the kenya is no where to be seen and the shell he was attached on is still in the same spot. Tank looks fine. I'm going to get DI water in the morning and do a water change anyway, but I'm going to check my params now to make sure nothings out of whack since I'm asuming it dissolved throughout the tank or got eaten by hermits
