Kessil A350

I've got 3 A350w over my 6ft. 125g and they give pretty good coverage over each section (2ft). If I can remember ill try and get a pic of the center section only tomorrow.

What kind of penetration do you get at the bottom of your 125g with the A350w? Enough for lps and zoos? Encrusting montipora?

For A350W owners out there, will one be enough to cover a 2.5ft tank? I was originally going to build a 2ft cube, but now I'm thinking of pushing it to 2.5ft.

Also how much depth does the clamp need to clamp onto the glass.

Here are the spread shots for the a350w (about 6" above water)..

Azumi, I forgot to mention my light mount sit about an inch or so below the trim which had to be modified a tad for the mount to fit. If you have a rimless tank mods are not necessary.

So, I had 1 A350W over my 3' 57G tank. Somehow, I felt the sides to be dull/dim. Found a good deal on a used A350W (hey, they're only a month old at max!):

Colors are a little washout due to it being from the iPhone. Not so blue. each channel is at 50%

Nice Reef. I like the color too. What blue/white ratio are you using to get that color? Are your Acans doing good? My A150's killed all mine sadly. How much did you get the A350 for?

Its currently set at 60-65% ch1 & ch2. I was running it at 100% each channel when I had only 1 350w.

Before this, all this was in a JBJ 28G HQI, which then had a 150W. I doubt it was the 150w that killed your acans.

My acan's love this. They're all over, from the sandbed to mid / high in the tank, with being right in front of a mp10 @100%

How much did the A350 cost you?

It shouldn't matter how much it cost, that's not what this thread is for.

I was thinking if the Kessil was anything like my 150, only one source of light, that there would still be shady areas on the sides of a 57 illuminata. It was just a gut feeling though. Guess my hunch was right! Since you need 2 350s for a 57 illuminata the 350s are comparable in price to the Radions now minus the controllability.

I'm pretty sure he was just trying to see what the market was for a used a350 in case he came across one. It's nice to know whether you're overpaying for something. Sheesh.

One radion is not enough to cover the tank either (i've tried it). The reason I have dark spots with 1 350W is due to the way the rocks are in my tank

That's what PMs are for.

Good to hear that you've tried both. What's your opinion on the radions vs the 350s?

I guess, I just don't see the harm in a simple question like that. The thread is vaguely titled "Kessil A350" and the guy asked what someone paid for their used "Kessil A350". Not sure how he should know that "that's not what this thread is for". I'd rather see a stray question here and there than overly board policing that discourages people from sharing insight and information but that's just my 2 cents, certainly not intended as a personal attack.

You're mistaking me for Dazed1. I've never run a radion...though I'd love to give it a shot. I'm subscribed because I have a sky blue a150 now but I'm thinking of upgrading to the a350 pretty soon.

??? I think such matters fall under the topic of conversation and are in context to the thread... I too am kind of curious as to what he paid for a unit that is so new. Gotta hate folks who try to participate in a conversation, they are the ruination of forums like this!

Agreed. I mean, it's not an off topic question. We're all here on this thread because we're interested in the Kessil a350 and the A350W. I'd venture to guess that many, no...most of us would be interested to know what they're going for used. After being away from this board for years I'm siked to be back but kinda bummed by the amount of unnecessary board policing.

Anyways, I'm liking what I'm seeing with these lights. I especially like them for what my application is which is basically a cube tank and someone who isn't bothered by the lack of programability.

Phew, what a conversation. :)

I bought it from a fellow member on RC for $335. Which is an unusually low price for a used A350W since they are barely a month old since release. Used these would normally not go below 375.

See that was easy and on topic wasn't it Dazed? :D Not to mention informative.

Seriously though...thanks for the insight and all the pics you post of your various Kessils in action is always appreciated.

This thread has been moved to the current forum.

Nanook, I realize that this thread is about a specific ight, but i started it in the SPS forum to find out more about how it could grow SPS corals. I really didn't want it to turn into a thread where everyone posts pictures of the light over a softee, LPS or mixed tank.
