Kessil A350

How in the world did you get it 11" from the water? In order to center it correctly mine is about 7"-8". Just curious any tips to raise it higher?

Take a look at my video at 0:41 in and you will see how I mounted it. I am using the A150 Gooseneck with some black zip-ties to fasten the light.

I see...I'm using the a350 goose neck and it's pretty sturdy wondering if you get more flexibility with the a150 goose neck?

Here's the 350W on a 57g tank. Its about 6" off the water

Its currently running at 35-40%. Switched from a 150W, to a 150W HQI (for 1 week) to this. Will run it at this % for a week before bumping up some more.

This may sound ridiculous but would a Kessil a350 or a350W be okay to use on a small tank the size of perhaps... 20"x12"x14"? or maybe even 24"x18"x18"? Either dimension tank will be sps dominated top to bottom with clams on the sandbed as well.

I could go with the a150 but the ability to control the kevlin is something I may want.

Thanks for posting that

What I was really looking for is someone to take par readings all around a tank to see the spread, im a little worried that under the unit you'll get decent par but yet if you move 6" or more toone side the numbers will fall to nothing

The 150 neck is the same as the 350 except for the tank and kessil brackets. So it would be just as flexible.

You could since you would be able to tune it down some. My A350 is over a 29 BioCube with the switches half way.

The narrow A350 drops off but is intense and the wider A350W spreads it out better. Comparing PAR reading would be difficult because you will have a different tanks then what is being measured. Example, you will get all around great readings off a 30 gallon cube with all white sand and if you put the same light in a 300 gallon all rock you will get some very lower reading. So i don't know how getting PAR reading helps anyone.

I think it would be very helpfull to see what numbers your getting on what your able to grow in how wide an area, I think people can work see the differences in tank size and make there judgements on light accordingly.
So far I have no idea or not whether these are ok for an sps tank where you need a wide area of around 200-400 Par

what im really looking for is something like this from Kangym

After 5 days, I can say my corals "look" happy. My light is now at 50% and on for 9hours daily, from previous 8hours.

A350W is available again at MarineDepot - this time I jumped in and have my order placed.

Would appreciate any further thoughts/suggestions/mounting distances/% of channel power and acclimation/results that have worked for others with favorable results.

I went from A150W (over my 28g) to A150W over my 57g to 150WHQI (jbj hood, temporary lighting for 1 week) to the A350W.

I started on friday with 35% ch1 and ch2. And on tuesday night, I went to 50% ch1 and ch2. Its about 6" off the top. I don't have too many corals yet.

I'll probably bump it to 65-70% over the weekend or next weekend.

For my tank(60”x18”x22”tall) I decided to go with 3 A350w but in your case I think you may want to consider putting a A350 in the center and A350W on the ends. That way you can place your more demanding sps in the center.

Mr. Mustang,

How long have yours been set up? How are your SPS responding?
