Kessil A350

Would one Kessil A350 be sufficient lighting for a 40 breeder softie/LPS tank? I was surprised at the low cost of this unit and now I am interested in it. Is it meant to supplement lighting or can it be used on its own? If thats all I would need is one of these to take care of all my lighting, then I am sold.
 
you will have to wait til tomorrow for the specs of it. No one really has any accurate measures since it hasn't been officially released.
 
It will be a stand alond fixture like the a150. 36" is a tough area to cover for one single point light source(other than t5) im looking forward to see its spread compared to the a150's though. It will def. be a lot more power running at 87w compared to the a150's 33w.

on a side note i have 2 a150's one 15k one 10k on a 40 breeder and getting great coverage and growth. Sps on the rocks and zoas on the bottom all doing great so if they drop the price on the a150 or snag a couple used ones might be a better option for you.
 
I agree that two A150's would give you better coverage over a 40b and will be plenty of light with a relatively shallow tank. Even if you can get adequate par with the A350 I think you will have serious shadowing with one small point source of light. JMO
 
great now the pre order option has been taken down from Marin depot website. I hope this is not a bad sign of what's to come
 
Usually that means they have taken enough pre-orders to cover what they have on order, I wouldn't worry about it.
