Kessil A360 Spectrum/Intensity Profiles

Any thoughts on profiles that perform well for SPS (mostly acros) or any other kinds of corals?

I found a sample profile on the Neptune discussion forum but there is no real talk about how well the tanks respond to that profile.

The profiles below basically
SunRise - ramp from color 60 to 40 over one hour, ramp intensity 0 to 100 over 4 hrs

Day - steady color 40 and intensity 100

Sunset - ramp from color 40 to 20 over 1 hour and intensity 100 to 0 over 3 hrs.

Sorry, can't get the xml tags to show properly in the post.

So, looking at the graphs it seems to me like there was a typo in the sample program as the color shift on the sunrise probably shouldn't be going from whiter to bluer.

Thoughts generally on what you think might work well???

Now I really don't understand the color dial. From the A360 manual
Adjust the Spectral Tuning Control (D) to the desired setting. When set fully to the left, the light is very close to Kessil Sky Blue. The middle setting is very close to Kessil Ocean Blue. Fully to the right is close to actinic blue.

From the A150 manual
The DEEP OCEAN BLUE model's special blend of wavelengths emulates an actinic light for a deep blue color that brings water to life.

The OCEAN BLUE unique mix of wavelengths closely resembles a 15000 K light, creating a visually stunning effect for water and coral in your aquarium.

The SKY BLUE model's distinctive spectrum emits light similar to a 10000 K light, emitting a natural looking light while providing coral with optimized wavelengths.

I think the setup you provided would be fine, however every tank is a little bit different, and what works for one person and their specific setup and corals may not work best for you. Use that profile above as a good starting point and keep an eye on your corals and how they are responding over a short time - few weeks or so.

As far as your last post goes can you be a little more specific on what you're asking there?

I was messed up on the kelvin scale so the dial wasn't making sense to me. My mistake.

Looks like it will just be a trial until I get to something that works.

I first had 100% intensity and 40 color but that seemed a little too blue for me for mid-day.

Now I am running 100% intensity and 60 color which is more white and looks better to me for mid-day but may actually be a little too bright. I'll watch carefully for any bad reaction from too much light.

Yeah, that's really the best thing you can do is to read your corals and adjust accordingly. Good luck, and keep us posed on how it goes.
