Kessil AP 700 Owners Gather Here!

I have been on the phone with Franco from Kessil daily, not once did he mention anything about a fatal error that they are aware of and he is the one than is sending out the beta. They are sending me another light (won't pay for shipping :thumbsup:) it seems that one light follows the program and the other doesn't, it will manually and it will take the program point that you are at once you close the program and set it but once the other light moves on to the next point it doesn't. It's almost as if the one light loses connection some how or doesn't have an internal clock. But here's the kicker, when I reverse the way I have the lights set up (ie: set up light 2 as light 1) the first one works but the second doesn't. Explain that puppy.



I think I had exactly this problem too. I had to reset and try to reconnect them a few times. That was with the older app. I could have been doing it wrong and trying to connect to the same light over and over because I kept getting confused which light WiFi was what. Figured it out after a few tries.

It really wasn't any problem at all honestly. My kids damn computer game installs are 100x's more frustrating.

As I previously mentioned my only major issue appears to be that I can only get the wifi to work through the router if I disable all security and encryption. Obviously this is not the most ideal situation. Other smaller issues are not switching back to the program after the set time out period, lights staying on after reprogramming. The work around seems to be to switch back and forth between a preset setting like acclimation and the program I just did a few times, then it seems to get in order.



It really is a shame that this light does not function the way it should, because when it does work I find the output and coloring to be very pleasing. Having been able to control my other Kessil lighting through my Apex has spoiled me. It's too bad Kessil choose not to have a 0-10v input to control the AP700.



Yeah, especially since they promised 0-10v control. If they don't come out with it soon I'm going to sell mine.
Sorry, I don't see the point of having an Apex or any other controller if it can't control everything.

Light is already being sent. They are charging me for shipping both ways. Also charging me for the light that is coming. Nice!! So not only have I burned countless hours f'n around with these lights they won't even cover the $37 CDN shipping each way. And there is going to be a $1300 charge going on my visa to pay for the new light until I ship the other one back. I wonder if I'll ever see the refund - oh and I wonder about the interest too. They say it is company policy to not pay for shipping.

I asked if they could toss in an old light for my QT tank frag tank. Not a chance for that either (I'm sure they have dozens of lights that have been used that they could give me for the pure pain and frustration over the last 3-4 months) or just anything to make me come out of this not hating the company. Looking like the absolute best scenario is I'm going to be out about a $100 +- for sure and that is with zero guarantee that this will even fix the problem. Great customer service. I know that if this was my company I sure as hell would make sure a customer like me was well taken care of. I have spent over $2200 on these lights and this is how I'm treated. Brutal.

I really hate that for you, spending so much you certainly are right for demanding a functioning light. Sounds like you have a bad light with a factory defect. Especially if one light seems to be perfectly serviceable So they are sending a replacement, you are shipping the broke light back to them, and you have to pay all the shipping costs? Seems kind of cheap of them, least they could do is split the shipping with you. Is that not the standard, I don't know. Have you attempted to contact the vender you purchased five light from, Maybe they would offer you a deal if this next Lights dosent work out. Either way I commend you for continue working the issue and demanding they do somethings about it as frustrating as it must be. Just trying to put my self in your shoes gives me anxiety. I sure hope they get you a good light and that's the end of it and your struggles, it must be terrible.

That sucks. You're a more easier going person than I. I wouldn't hesitate to file a complaint with my CC company and let the vendor and Kessil fight with them about it. I would turn them making me pay shipping on its head and end up with getting the lights for free. I have no tolerance for that kind of stuff.
