Which subtractions are you referring to? The correction factor was sourced from Apogee's website. BRS doesn't use it because they don't use an Apogee MQ-500 to measure PAR.

Additionally, you can find Dana Riddle's review of it here using the correction factor (and provides comparison data to the Li-Cor).
Here u go, factors already adjusted in readings.

*The*MQ-210*and*MQ-510*Underwater Quantum Meters already apply the immersion effect correction factor to the meter readings througt the meter firmware. Additionally, the*SQ-420*and*SQ-520*have an "Immersion Setting" that applies the immersion effect corection factor to the sensor readings through the ApogeeConnect Software. These sensors do not need post-measurement corrections applied to their measurements.

I had 3 360s on a 60", had to go to 4 to get coverage. Still wasn't greast down low so went with 2 ap700s.
360s are only really good for about 15" each when doing a lot of sps.
 
I am setting up a standard 180. I have three a360we. And a 2 x 80w t5. I planned to add another 2 x 80w t5 if needed. Will this be enough for SPS? Is there any numbers for mounting height I should shoot for? Just holding it by hand 8 inches seems to give enough coverage.

I think I ended up 6.5-7 inches off water. From what I remember , any lower and I would loose a lot of coverage and higher would loose par. Seemed to be sweet spot for my tank. 60×23×23

Understood but the measurements were taken with an MQ-500 and that still uses the correction factor.

Kessil recommends five or six for a tank that size which seems plausible based on what is working over my 75g.
 
Help needed

Help needed

Hi,

I recently switched from iphone to android. After doing the switch, the android functioned for a few moments and suddenly stopped, and I can no longer find the lamp. I did all the resets suggested by Franco, tried the Iphone it used to function with and nothing can find the light.

- it connects to the wifi, but i cannot get passed step 2, the app just shuts off on the iphone

- all possible factory resets have been done

- From what I am told (not sure this is true) the computer in the light would be "jammed" with too many phone that have been synced.

- would anyone know a way to completely roll back the lamps software? Pressing color down and intensity up and unplugging it as suggested by kessil is not helping.

Question for those of you using the goosenecks. I just ordered a pair of A360s with gooseneck mounts and 90* adapters. I'm planning on using them over my 90g build but I just realized that my tank has glass braces right where I was planning on mounting the goosenecks. My question is can the goosenecks be rotated or bent at an angle? So rather than mounting to the back of the tank and going straight towards the front, can then be attached at the rear and go forward at like a 45* angle?

I have a 180 SPS dominated tank with 3x400w mh and 4x54w t5 about 18" above the tank. For a variety of reasons I want to switch to Kissel a360. I was thinking of 3 a360 but was wondering about the switch effecting my SPS. Will this light be enough? Or is it too much and would I have to acclimate. Most of the searches I did showed old threads 2-3 years ago and I know folks were burning SPS because the light looks weak. I would appreciate any advice the experts can provide.

I have two over a 75g with 2x54w T5; three over your tank wont be nearly enough.
 
Well had my first Kessil fail after a year's use (of course it's one I bought used) time to see how their repairs are cost wise. Seems to be a failed fan causing it to shutdown. Anyone had any experience with non warranty repairs?

That happened to one of my 360's...called Kessil and they didnt even want the defective unit back, sent me out a new one for the price of postage. That light still works but I had to put a small computer fan pointed at it to keep it from shutting off. But it ran all day with increased air circulation around the light. I kept it for a backup.

I've been running my 360we's over my 90 gallon and have been having issues for some time now. 50% color and 50% intensity on a 12 hour cycle. My corals come out in the morning and then close up during the higher lighting times in the middle of the day. Mostly lps and softies. 8" off the water. I also have a canopy which keeps the light spillage way down. Any suggestions? It's frustrating because I've played with the intensity and 25-30% looks like it helps, but by the numbers my corals wouldn't be receiving enough light?..
 
How many units, how high is the tank? 50% intensity shouldn't be an issue if you have them every 2ft, you'd only be getting a max of 100PAR.
 
I run my 2 kessils on a 4' tank at a max of 85%.

But I gradually ramped up intensity over a one month period after switching from mh/t5 combo.
At 50% you should not be getting too much intensity for most corals.

What kind of light did they have before?
