I've had this happen with one of my EB8s and a Kessil. The same light on another EB8 didn't flash. The flash was when something else in the EB8 was turned on by the Apex.
I witnessed the same thing happen once and I'm not running an apex.

I have a 48x18x24 90 gallon mixed reef, with some of the easier SPS (montipora, pocillipora, seriatopra) Setup for a year now. Been running 2 48" Current USA Marine Orbits since day 1. Get pretty good growth in everything, but not great color. I do however love the programming functionality, so I really want something that has that functionality. Wanting to get great color, so I'm looking to change my LED setup. One option is switching to Kessil. What would you all recommend? 2 A360WE with spectral controller or AP700? Pros vs Cons of each? Thanks
I'll try to give a simple answer. If you have "some" sps and your okay with putting them in the center third of the tank, an ap700 seems right up your alley. If you want more sps in the future and want to put it anywhere I would probably recommend getting 2 360we. I have 48" tank with an ap700 and I can't confidently grow harder sps in some places with 1 unit. Of course, like I mentioned this is the simple answer.
I'm actually getting a par meter today that i rented from an online vendor so I can get some par readings of ap700 at 15-16" off the water line for those interested. You may interested in that too since that would be what you're looking at if you went down this road.
I'm running 3x a360ne over top of my tank. I reached out to Kessil to get an idea of settings for my 32" deep tank. They told me that the color is only a matter of opinion that it always puts out optimal spectrum. So when you guys are adjusting color is it just an attempt to get better color out of your corals or are you still getting a difference in coral response in terms of growth?

So here what's I got for par readings at 100% 15-16" off the water line.
By the pinks birdsnest right snack on the middle I'm at about 195.
To the right and left of the top middle rock is about 165
Sand bed dead center between the islands is 115-120
95 by the encrusting monti on the right island
85-90 by zoa garden
110 sandbed in front of zoas
About 100 by red plating monti on left
100 sandbed all the way on the left
I have a 17 gallon SPS dominant tank. Thinking about getting a Kessil 360. The tank dimensions are 23l x 14h x 11w
Should I go with the wide ? Because the standard will only cover 18 inches, right ?
