Kessil Club

HELLO ALL KESSIL AP700 USERS. PLEASE READ THIS IS IMPORTANT.
so tonight I come home late (around 1:30 am) and to make a long story short, my tanks lights are on full blast. Um what?!?!? Now I've experienced some other glitches that I can deal with but this is totally unacceptable. I have no clue how long my light has been doing this or how long it stays on for. I am never really awake at this time to know which is what worries me. I'm just curious if anyone has had an issue like this. I'm going to be calling Kessil tomorrow because this has to be solved immediatley imo. I am really not happy with this along with the other glitches and if this isn't fixed I will seriously be considering switching to something like radions.

same crap happened to mine. I stopped using the light until they come up with some improvements to the app. I'm now using my old Kessils and the AP sits in the closet.

Here us my 47 gallon column tank. its the 30" tall and the kessil A360W is perfect! Because my tank is 30" tall, what would you guys say I should run the intensity at? I have been running it at about 80% and everything seems fine. I only have LPS and softies in there. light is about 6 inches off the water surface. I will probably move it up since the lense is getting splashed a little.

I recently switched from rapidled back to halide. With my rock work, I could make one AP700 work until I could afford a second. But these stories have me deciding to wait for any issues to be worked out.

Yeah, exactly...

Sounds like this light is a mess?

Roll-out of the light has been a complete mess. 6 months in and the phone apps just had a beta release last week.

I could see this happening from some jobber company, but Kessil is hardly that.

Question about a350W

Question about a350W

Hi, I have an a350w on a 30"x24" frag tank that's about 8" deep. The light is about 2 feet above coral now because they seem unhappy with it lower. I have the blue turned up all the way and the white side about 50% now. I seemed to have bleached a couple LPS and montipora, but a couple acro under the light look ok. I put the bleached ones on the side furthest away from the light and they are recovering. Would I be better getting two 150 or 160's for this tank? Thx.

There is no separate blue and white control. There is one control for color and the other for intensity. The only advantage to a couple of 160we lights would be multiple light sources to reduce shadowing. Otherwise, just keep what you have and turn down intensity to prevent bleaching. Also keep in mind that the whiter you go, the more PAR you'll see for any given level of intensity.
