Kessil Club

Anyone here, using Kessils on deeper tank like 36" or more with good results?

Adam,
I was using 1 Kessil A350N 38" above the bottom of my old tank without problems even with sps. I believe you will not have problems, and the new 360N suposed to have better intensity (I dint test it). Last case scenario, send an email to kessil.

I called Kessil, and like all led manufacturer, they said "off coarse will be enough" like GHL Mitras said, and I end up selling all Mitras.

I'm looking for recommendations for color and intensity for my a360we's over a 90 gallon. The coral colors have been great while running at 40color/45intensity. However, my zoas seem to be stretching for light. How high in intensity can we take these lights in a mixed reef? Your input is greatly appreciated.

I'm running mine at 75% intensity right now and about 8" off the water. My zoas are close to the sand and they seem fine.

I started up my new tank in November and my lights (360NEs 9" above a 24" tank) are only at 55% now... I started at 25 or 30 and have been creeping them up veeeery slowly; but I also have a rock wall with SPS mounted only a few inches under the water so trying to be careful to not fry them. So far so good and I've got amazing color from some.

Wondering if there is any benefit to running the kessil at a lower color say 25-35 range but keeping a higer intensity say 70 max? Just have seen others doing this..currently I run mine at a color of 65max 70max intensity. Thoughts?

Why wouldn't you get benifit from low color? Every color temperature gives optimum growth because of the way kessil made their spectral Inteligents. You should be fine. You'll probably get better color from the coral from that range.

I guess my question should be, what difference in color and growth have others had with color being higher than 50 or lower than 50 depending on schedules

Guys, I have a A350W on my 93G Cube (30x30x24) with the light about 2" from the water. It covers about 90% of the tank with light except the back part which I think is fine as I wont have any corals in the back. What I am worried is the intensity of the light near the bottom of the tank. Is it enough? I am not planning a whole lot of SPS but I will mostly have Leathers, Hammers, Torches and maybe an Anemone or 2. Will this be enough?

Also if I had to maybe use 2 A160 so I could use a controller, will that be enough for this tank?

^^^^^ I think your light is to close to the water, with a 30'' wide tank I think you will need two. I would just get another 350 sub $250 for the light.

i find that the more blue the spectrum the less the growth but better response in color, vice a versa for less blue.

Owned a A150W a while back, great light, don't know about it being not appreciated on the forums, hard to find a thread on what lighting to buy without them being recommended . But I like clubs, lets see more pictures.

I agree, I have a 35 hex I am gettign ready to set up (been out for a few years after a cross country move) and would love to see some more pictures!

Not to derail this thread but can you explain the GHL issue. I have two Mitras lights and am having issues setting the correct %. I am ready to sell I am so frustrated.

On my mist recent tank I installed 4 360n kessels and I like them so far. It has only been 6 weeks.
