Kessil Club

For a 24x24x24 you'll need the A360

The w not the N right? I think I know the answer to that but wanted to make sure....Sorry still learning about these units. I only ever used cheaper LED units when I was in the hobby and things have changed so much since then. Was not sure about overspill on the wide. I would want to use the gooseneck mount and wondering if there would be much overspill with the W.

I have my A360WE mounted 4" above my waterline (20" cube) to completely avoid overspill. On a 24" cube you could probably get to 6" above before light spill. Others can chime in here. You could do a 360N, as long as you don't mind mounting it fairly high above the water for full coverage (higher than the gooseneck would provide I expect).

Perfect, thank you! The lower the better for me space wise. I have a internal window dividing a wall that will sit about 10 inches above where I want to put the tank so I would love to avoid have a light interfering with the view to the other room if at all possible....the W it is
Thank so much for the input.

I'm still really impressed with the amount of light just one single Kessil A160WE can put out over my 40 gallon breeder, and its not even on full intensity in this pic.

Ended up buying a kessil a360we today along with the 60 cube. Next I will get the controller. Hoping it will be enough to keep a mixture of softies, Lps and sps. I was able to see one in person today and I quite liked it. Although it was on a huge tank so it was a little hard to put it in perspective.
Thanks for all the input.

I'll me tell you how good the Kessil lighting is.

I have my original Kessil 150 Ocean Blue over my so called spare 50 gallon reef tank down stairs in the garage. Even though my little 150 is the only light I'm currently using on my 50 gallon spare reef, the Frogspawn corals that were dying in my 90 gallon main tank, are now coming back and thriving under my Kessil 150 lighting.

The lights on my main tank, are two AI Hydra 52's and one Vega Color LED. So much for saying more is better.

The sad part of this story is, even though I have thousands of dollars invested in state of the art filtration, powerheads and LED lighting on my main tank, my 50 gallon spare reef tank is healthier with only a Marineland hang on filter and one small power head for water movement . Just to let you all know, I have zero fish in my 50 gallon spare tank and I've only performed only one 5 gallon water change in the last year with my spare tank.

I'm thinking now, if I had two or three Kessil 360's under my main tank, things would be better for all my corals.

Kessil LED lighting is the only way to go. I would like to replace my AI LED'S, but I have too much money invested in these light right now, plus my wife would have a fit, if I spent more money on this endless money pit. I don't mind spending the money on my reef tank, but I don't want to be sleeping with my two golden retrievers on the floor.

Thanks,
Randy

I'm debating.....

I have a Kessil 360we over my Fusion 20 gal. Length is about 24in.

I originally put a PAR38 bulb on the side to reduce the shadows on SPS.

Lately, I am wishing for a cleaner... sleaker looking setup and debating removing the PAR bulb.

Here was the very original setup- before stocking

What does everyone think? Keep the PAR bulb and feel better about shadow reductions on SPS or have faith in Lord Kessil and let the single light do the work?!?

FTS for the helluvit.

Been out of the game for a few years now but looking to get back in. I think I am going with a rimless 60 cube. So 24" all the way around. I was debating on the xr15 pro but then came across some pics of cubes with the kessil lighting. So I was looking at the a160we but then saw that it might be best for me to get the a360we. I want to be able to run a mixed reef so would likely have a few sticks in there but mainly LPS and some softies. Will a single fixture give me the coverage and intensity I need? Money wise the a160we and controller fits the bill but I also don't want to waste my money.

My LFS store suggested I get the narrow so light can penetrate all the way to the bottom of the tank. I also have a 60 gallon cube.

Just wondering if I have to much light going in my tank. It's a A360N and roughly 4.5 inches above the water line, is that to close? am I making things to hot/buring stuff? Also would I have to worry about light overflow, i think that's the term I'm looking for?

I don't have coral in there atm but would like to get some LPS.
