Does AP700 make corals color pop a bit more than 360we?

How much PAR-difference is there?

Here are some PAR readings that BRS took with the A360 and AP700. The lights are 8 inches above the surface and 18 deep in the tank

The A360WE is the lower numbers.

It seems that 360we is quite weak! Although I suppose the ap700 graph is from two light sources in that fixture, it seems that the leds in ap700 are nearly twice as efficient as the ones in the 360we.

I wouldn't say the a360 is weak, with the right coverage you can grow anything with it, I have 2 A360WE over a 3 foot 18 inch deep tank and I get great coverage, especially in the middle where coverage from the 2 lights out overlap.

The AP700 looks awesome, ordered 1 unit last night for my new 4 foot tank. I think I'll get the same par at the edges that I got with the 360.

Do you also get great growth and color? Any acros.

I have a similar setup and got ok to good color/growth for some acros. Montis and Euphyllia and a soft coral are doing fine.

I was a bit surprised by the PAR measurement. 360we had the lowest of all. On a 65g 3 foot long tank. Perhaps four 360we's would compare to the proven T5 eight bulb ATI.

I believe that. My AP is pushing the same PAR at 40% as my dual 360WEs were pushing at 95%. Sensor was never moved when I switched lights and I clean it once per week. I started the AP with one of the factory templates at around 65% max and almost fried my corals.. very strong light, so start slow!

Close to 100% power not sure about intensity, Check out the comments on the BRS YouTube video on LEDs. I asked the question there somewhere (it's pretty easy to find my questions based on my username https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=V7XLgLiA0PM

I sent BRS a note to see what the intensity of the test was. I highly doubt it was 100% intensity. 80 par at 18 deep seems pretty inconsistent with what everyone else sees with these lights.

I'll post when I hear back. They are just down the road from me. :p

I had one over my 4 foot 90 gallon. I now have two. :P

With one you'll have to have the light 15"-18" above the waterline to get enough spread. It's just too much to ask for, for a single fixture with the pucks that close together. IMO anyway.

I slapped this together in photoshop to demonstrate what you can expect on the edges. I didn't take refraction into account which improves the angles a bit.

I threw my ap700 up and in my ne day my banzai acro is coloring up so well. All my corals have shown improvement in a single day. I had an ever grow before

I have a softy/lps tank. If I decide to add any sps I'll put them under the light. I can also add two a160s at the outer edges later if I need more light.

I'm running 8-11 peaking at 70% it's about 10" off the water but I have a 25" deep tank so it hits my softies well. And I use the new moon lunar cycle. Really just trying to figure out how my corals will react. My milli looks good same with all the sps but I will monitor it. Got this custom mount from Cali reef supply highly recommended. They custom make every piece, and they cut the arm to fit my stand dimensions.

damn, a 15 hour photo period?

Yeah, I have his custom mounts on my 360s that I just took off. LeRusso right? He makes nice stuff.

This is my gold mili loving the kessil. Its tentacles are out all day baby. Totally my favorite coral.

Haha my bad I'm running 8-21

Yeah he makes quality mounts.
