I find that highly unorthodox and probably totally unnecessary. I'd keep it at 12 hour light cycle and call it good. I've played around with going white on my Kessils and the only thing I noticed is more algae growth. I keep it pretty much on the blue side unless I'm taking photos.
It's a 150 tall, 48L×24W×30TNice! What size tank is that on?
I have lowered it a couple of inches. Now I don't have the spillageLooks good, but I'd lower it a foot to reduce all that light spillage
Club Kessil, I come to you for help!
I'm going to be doing a Red Sea Reefer 350 (47x21x20) and am wondering about the Kessil ap700. I see a lot of people are using it over this sized tank, but should that suffice for an SPS dominated aquarium? Would two a360w's work?
Thanks!
Two 360we has more control, mounting, and spacing options. The lighting is pretty much the same. I'd keep your SPS coral placement closer to the center of the lights rather than far off to the side. You should use a PAR meter though.
Anyone has experience with keeping and growing SPS with 1 unit of A360WE in a 2 foot cube tank ?

I had two A360WEs over a 2 x 1.5 x 1.5 tank - SPS growth was poor at best.
I would not call Kessil underrated.
They are very very popular and one of the best selling LED's out there.
I know a ton of people who have them.
I have
A150 10K Sky Blue
A150 15K Ocean Blue
A150 20K Deep Ocean Blue Actinic
I will be getting an A160 soon.
And then the Spectral Controller after that.
Hello rc,
Have a question for you. I two kessils160 over my custom lps dominated 30 gallon frag its 40x15x12. You think I can lower intensity of the lights? I have them ramping up to 60%. You think I can safe & slowly lower my intensity just to see how the corals and anemones react? The lights are approximently 12 - 14 inches from the highest corals. How high do you keep your lps corals and medium light inverts from the light, and what intensity do you use? There's a picture attached so you can take a look.
