How did that happen with all the terrible shading problems that Kessils cause?
Well, ComforablyNumb, I hope you are happy. I lost control of my bladder when I saw your tank.

You can avoid most shading problems by aiming your lights in different directions. It's a trade off between beautiful, clean lighting and sterile fluorescent. I'll take a little shading with beautiful contrast and motion over dull T5's any day.
I agree. T5 main lights with some led spot lighting is perfect

I believe you missed my point. Adding T5's to Kessils drastically reduces shimmer and tone. I would just add more Kessils where needed.
Not all of us are made of money. :eek2:
What's funny is the best lighting for coral health and visual appeal is the cheapest hahaha
I.e a 400w radium in a big reflector

Have 2 of those heat/electricity pigs sitting out in my garage. Want one for free?
Regardless of any other factor? Thing is, there are always other factors. Visual appearance being key in display aquariums. If kessils grow all corals well (and they do, see mfaso24's post previous page) and one prefers shimmer over a flat appearance, why not just kessils?
Seems its more just personal preference..
Yes please!
