kessil question

wondering which way i should go and why. any advice would be appreciated.

have a 57 rimless tank dim 36 x 18 x 20. its going to be a marco tank.

was thinking of buying the kessil sun for it. should i go with 2 a160we or 1 a360we.

do both kessils cover 12-24 or does the 360 cover more

i will have a 6 inch deep sand bed

I would not recommend two 160s. I had 2 150s on a 58 gallon tank (same dimensions) and was not impressed and did not have luck growing corals. I would strongly recommend 2 360s or two radion xr15w or one radion xr30w pro units. I know this is more expensive but in the long run you will be better off. You could temporarily use one 360we but plan on adding a additional one in the future.
Good luck!

I have the same tank and I'm running 1 Kessil AP700. Max intensity is 40% Very strong light. The shimmer from the Kessil is hard to beat.

The Ap700 would be a great choice. I have heard nothing but good reviews. It would also look great on a rimless tank.

I just noticed that you said macro tank. That could change things a little. I don't have any experience with that type of setup.

lol , thanks your post actually made me laugh :lolspin: yes its a marco tank. never grew marco before so just looking for advice

I have a 48" tank and I use 3 kessil 360w's. Still not sure if its enough coverage... Looks really shape though and the shimmer is great. Hadn't been running them long enough to comment on sps growth. Love how they work with the apex.
